Alright, I re-did the numbers based on my rule suggestion for calculating salary affecting the cap, and I got an even lower number than before: $60.22 million.

I will probably bump it up to $62 million and call it a day, but based on the way players sign for contracts, I don't think people will have trouble hitting that cap. If anyone is interested I can start up a new test league and have people test out free agency with that as the artificial cap.

Lower, the better. Last year we had really no good FAs. The only time there were good FAs is when inactive GMs didnt sign their guys. Otherwise a guy rated an 82 or 83 was considered a good FA year, not realistic at all. Lower cap should be better imo.

Yeah, I'm probably going to stick with between 62-64. If players are signing this low with CPUs, it will assurdedly be lower with user GMs.

This game mode really needs Commish adjustable slider settings. Way too many penalties (PIT had 6 in the first period), none of which I can score on by the way, way too many injuries too. There shouldn't be an injury every other game. It's bad enough with late hits that don't get called but then guys get injured on top of it.

**** EA and there half ass games. Gmc and HUT have lost most of their fun

Really what it comes down to, esp in GMC is that commish powers should not be capped. Everything should be editable. Gameplay sliders, roster control, player ratings.

Sure, this way the commish could abuse powers but a good, honorable commish would be able to manage the league better, be able to make roster changes easier without multiple ppl taking control of teams, to fix simple errors, etc. Not to mention, we'd be able to update players potential/ratings if necessary when newer rosters come out.

Yes, I'm quoting my own post.

Just wanted to say, speaking of making changes. I'm not really a basketball fan anymore but I saw the trailer for the new NBA 2k game for the next gen systems, holy crap it looks amazing. Amazing how that game has progressed.

Then on the flip side I can take all the NHL games made since like what, NHL 11 and have them on four seperate televisions and I'm not completely confident I'd be able to tell which is which. It's pathetic, really.

being able to edit your players' equipment (helmet, stick, skates) would be dandy

A wish list for nhl15
is that the games remember where you left off if you get disconnected so you can resume the game.

Number one should be hire some developers to improve the game instead of hiring sticker designers to make a new sticker to put over the old game.

Can we see these numbers? Seems one has to get rid of more players to get down to that cap. Right now I'm at around 61 mill with just the skaters, and another 4,4 mill for the goalies makes me get close to 65.5 mill. If I need to add the 2 guys with over 1 mill in the minors(Mueller and Tennyson) I'm suddenly close to 68 mill?

Or maybe you mean to just have 18 skaters on the roster and the goalies? If so it seems more reasonable...

Right...seems a bit odd with WSH at 38 mill and WPG at 33...

That is what can happen when you leave re-signing to the CPU.

Either way, the idea of a salary cap is to allow teams a better chance to sign good players. Top teams aren't supposed to be able to re-sign all their players without issue (which is basically what happened in Bluth 13).

Actually, my numbers for both Washington and Winnipeg are completely wrong. I'll have to re-do that number.

Frankly, I dont even know how WSH could get to 33 mil. I have 6 upcoming UFAs (Chimera, Neuvirth, Strachan, Komarov, Urbom, MacDonald). Everyone else has a contract that extends beyond next season. To get to 33 mil, they would have had to buy out like Ovy, Backstrom, Green, Laich, and Erat...

Edit: haha, always better when I read the entire post (just saw the last line).

Unless :habs choke, the matchups in the Atlantic are pretty much set :)wings v. :habs, :panthers v. :leafs, but :bolts or even :flyers could sneak in). Metro matchups are all up in the air. Also a pretty good race for the Art Ross going on between JT and Ovy. Ovy has slowed down considerably, and JT has picked up the pace. But Ovy currently has a 2 point lead with 4 games left to play for both teams (1 of them versus each other).

not sure it could be considered choking, things are real tight right now.

pretty ridiculous that 87 puts me on the bubble in the East, would be comfortably in in the West...

Kinda like in real life how the east is so pathetically terrible compared to the west

LA needs 4 points in 5 games to clinch the #1 seed in the West.

Come on Vancouver, San Jose, Calgary, Edmonton, and Anaheim!
