Wasn't Pineault being projected around here, early in the year, as a potential mid-first rounder? Good to see him getting so many mentions as one of the '04 steals.

If so, anyone with any thoughts on why he ended up dropping to the CBJ in the second?

That is an easy one. No ice time in draft year means a drop in draft position. Played last year with BC in the NCAA and was sparingly used. Moved to the CHL and is getting ice and showing his skill.

Not sure if he's been mentioned yet or not, but what about D Chris Campoli (7th round-NYI). He's a year older than most of the 04 picks but he is also already in the AHL and playing pretty well. 5 points in 10 games and not a defensive liability.
