The best rookie defenceman?

This year there are maybe more than ever some really great rookie defencemen out there like Dahlin, Heiskanen, Jokiharju. Who's looking the best so far and will be the best after this season?

I gotta say Heiskanen. He looks like he's been out there like 10 years and he is so smooth. Jokiharju may still surprise everyone.

Dahlin will win the calder.

I think this years calder run will be so ******* exciting. I don't think Dahlin will win it though even he will be a franchise D eventually. I think it will be Petterson, Svechnikov, Heiskanen or Jokiharju.

I don’t think Dahlin has any lesser chance than those two other dmen. It’ll be a forward as usual.

Dahlin will win the calder.

Unless he gets moved to Buffalo’s first PP unit (he definitely deserves to be) , he won’t have a great chance. Buffalo just doesn’t score enough ES goals for him to keep pace with players like Petterson.

Dahlin will win the calder.

Don’t think he’s anywhere near anyone’s top pick right now.

Petterrson
Hesiken
Jokiharju
Svechnikov

All a step ahead. I think some more seasoning would of done Dahlin well

For the OP Heiskenen for me

I think it's Miro Heiskanen.

As much as I like Jokiharju, I don't think that his performance will age as well over the season as Heiskanen's. Heiskanen has performed incredibly when it come to defense. For instance, vs Leafs, he was on the ice for 18 shots for and 4 against, during 5v5.

Dahlin's been meh. People really look for things to talk about him. His performance has been OK at best, certainly nowhere near what was expected and certainly no generational start. Most disappointing #1OA since Yakupov thus far. Of course, he can still pick it up.

I agree with this. Will be extremely difficult for a dman to win the Calder this year considering the forward rookie class has some very tough competition. Dmen will need to put up 40 points this year imo to get any real consideration

There's franchise forwards again who will get the votes for Calder even if they don't impact the game as much as some of these D-men.

Fun group of rookies again.

Wow. 3 games in and people are already writing in RotY. ANYTHING can happen from here on out. Speculating is pointless.

Get back to me around game 40.

The kid has barely played in the league and you are already saying he's a bust? For real?
