Not sure if he ever amounted to anything ...

I can’t imagine anyone can top this, especially considering it was before his prime not while he was playing out the string.

He went on waivers and cleared I think. So that's on every GM at the time, but especially Button obviously.

Martin Straka (NYI). Part of the Berard-Redden trade with Ottawa, Straka (22-2-10-12) didn't fit in with the Isles. Claimed by Florida. Straka post-Isles:726-208-374-582, had a few career seasons with the Pens (95 and 83 points) and with the Rangers where twice he had 70 or more points (76 and 70).

Best I can think of off the top of my head for the Penguins is Colby Armstrong. Former 1st round pick that didn't make the team out of camp, cleared, then got called up later in the season and went almost a point-per-game in 40-some NHL games. Of course that was with Sid and nobody expected him to keep that up.
Pens also lost Biz through waivers

This is nuts. I had no idea most if these guys had been on waivers.

If these guys are all assembled into one team in their prime, they are most definitely a playoff team.
