The whole purpose of trading Larsson is opening space for the young D the Oilers - not to take one on. Trading Larsson is probably a baaad idea this season. Maybe in the offseason.

I also prefer retention on AJ's contract. That's not a pretty contract for his production currently.

Uhh what? He's on a 40 point pace in a year where he had a major injury and needed some games to get back up to speed. He plays with grit and forechecks hard.

How is a 40 point F for 3.4M "not a pretty" contract? Especially given he has been a 40-50 point winger in his NHL career thus far?

That's fantastic value.

It's copyright infringement. It's like they lifted those proposals from some of more out there members.
Pretty sure it doesn't count as copyright infringement if you solicit those proposals from folks, they offer them, and say "go ahead and use it".

Because many of us do subscribe and we may not have been aware of the article otherwise. Pony up and enjoy quality writing!

Not paying for hockey write ups unless its somebody who actually knows what he's talking about like a pro coach, not moron journalists.

Not fantastic value at all.. he's basically JT Compher level who makes about the same. He's not Burakovsky or Donskoi level production.

Slightly better production than Chiasson and Nieto but those two make $2M-ish.

Larsson is on a value-contract currently... not interested in AJ without serious retention. That's why we've been all saying Kapanen makes more sense. And if Leaf fans think AJ is only slightly worse than Kapanen... losing Kapanen shouldn't be a big deal.

Just going to say most people disagree with you on this and leave it.

Who says no? NHL executives evaluate your trade proposals

Makes for an interesting read. Especially if you try to guess in advance what the exec will say to each proposal.
13.5 out of 16, myself. Claiming half credit for one in which the exec said that both sides might say no and I only picked one.

The proposals evaluated (EDIT: note that they came from solicited Twitter comments) were:
Love mantha but no way in hell Montreal’s giving up Romanov and potential lottery pick for him
