If you look at my 1993/94 spreadsheet I have Pronger on the whalers page.. I dont think I took note of the faces for my Kipper and Thomas though (they are draft picks in my build)
Thanks I’ll look for Pronger. If you ever look at Kipper and Thomas again I’d appreciate if you let me know what you used for them.

Edit: Would you mind linking me the spreadsheet that contains Pronger’s create a player info? I’m having trouble finding it.

I just edited My Nail Yakupov and I have to say I’m pretty pleased with how he turned out. I tried My hand At Datsyuk but it’s been much more difficult. He just has a more unique facial shape that’s hard to find when you’re limited to preset ones. Anyway here’s my few tries at Datsyuk they’re not great, but I feel I’m getting closer to being on the right track.

Ah I see I found it! I didn’t scroll down the 1st time I was looking. Man kudos to you this is so organized you even have lines and everything listed! I wouldn’t have nearly enough patience to get all that information organized like that. Do you work with computers or at least do website design by any chance?

lol, I study interactive media design which does involve logos, websites, photography, videography, user interface design, etc. However I really struggle with coding so I suck at websites. I do though really like designing interfaces that you cant interact with for websites/games.

It seems weird seeing Billy Smith in brown pads with a brown glove and blocker because he's one of the first goaltenders to use coloured gear. (Or are those black pads? If they are, the gloves shouldn't be brown)

There was a stretch, near the end of his career, that he strangely wore black pads (and for a little while, a black blocker) with the Islanders.

But as early as the late 1970's, Smith had blue and orange pads (but still had brown gloves) and then had a blue CCM blocker (with a brown catcher.)

After about a month and a half of creation, Im ready to start my 1992-93 season. Thanks to SapinVert and SnipeNscore spreadsheet. Its the reason why I decided to do it. I have made a few changes and my rosters need a few changes but I cant wait to play with guys like Bure and Mogilny.

Thanks again for all the work that was put into this project.

That's rare. Usually he has a blue or black blocker in his black pad days. Either way, when you get to him in black pads, it's in his post-heyday period. When he was winning Cups and was a dominant goaltender, he was was wearing blue and orange pads.

Yeah I guess you're right... on most pictures I see of Billy Smith he wears that blue blocker. Personnally, I like the retro feel of those black pads, so I'll stick with that time period. But I'll definitely adjust his blocker and maybe his trapper too. Thanks for the comment!

Happy to help man! And let's give some credit to Jocke7... he shared many of his creations on that spreadsheet too. And SnipNscore, awesome job with that 93/94 spreadsheet! I just can't imagine the number of hours you must have spent to put all this together. You must have a blast playing with those rosters...

Both you and thewall should add more videos on your youtube channels showcasing all those created teams/players. 1992/93 and 1993/94 were sure seasons to remember when you look at the number of 90's HOFamers that were at their peaks, and the many 80's stars that were still pretty good. Seasons 1990 to 1996 was such a great era for hockey fans!

Now, imagine NHL 20 with a no helmet option, more facial editing options (see NBA2k), more equipment options (more retro helmets, more retro goalie masks), goalie mask/paint editor, classic arenas (Montreal Forum, Boston Gardens, etc. - see MLB The Show), custom music.... and of course, roster sharing!

Hey Folks, with the help of Phil Parent's spreadsheet named NHL 20 Alumni Edit (The NHL 20 Alumni Completion Project - Operation Sports Forums), and after some tweaking, I decided to merge the alumni players from NHL20 to our created players spreadsheet. This gives us a better picture of all the combined legends: the ones created by EA Sports and the ones created by Jocke7 and myself.

Some players created by EA Sports are bang on, others are close but not perfect and others are miles away from the real thing. To help users with the creation process, I'll color code all players this way :

Green : players that are in NHL20 and don't require major updates (you can almost use them as they are, although goalie equipment colors might need to be adjusted)

Blue : players that are in NHL20 that require some minor facial or equipment updates (helmets, masks, visor, beard, etc.)

Red : players that are in NHL20 that don't look a thing like the real players and will require to be re-created from scratch (totally different face, hair, eyebrows, etc.)

White : created players that are not in NHL20 (those have been created by Jocke7 and myself)

I'll start the color coding soon, but for now you can enjoy seeing all legends together in one single spreadsheet. I haven't counted them all, but that must be close to 500 legend and alumni players all together!

Woah, my spreadsheet got some use, sweet!

I love the planning part a lot better than the creating part.
Would it be of any use to you if I'd finish picking the forwards in the spreadsheet?
Sure, you can complete your forwards, that would give us an idea if there's more important players left to do. To help you a bit, I did create back in 2012 or something, a website showcasing the best players by team and by era. Here's the link for the best all time rosters for each team, according to 2012 : ÉQUIPES

It's in French, but you'll easily understand how to navigate through it, ;)

I dont know if you saw but I put out a full gameplay video with my own little intermissions of Quebec vs Montreal. I plan to do one of those a month and then I am also starting my 94 franchise mode in February so should be fun :)

No I didn't see that, I'm watching it right now and it's pretty cool. I guess it's meant to that have poor quality and that horizontal progressive scan to make it look like we watch it from a 1994 CRT TV? That's clever! Can't wait to see more videos!

yea I wanted it to feel like the 90s lol. The render time on that video was like 8 hours because of the editing haha. and thanks man :D I would do them more frequently but I am in my last semester of college so tough finding time to do an edit like that

I am going to sound pretty psychotic here.. but I am going to attempt to create a FULL roster document with every player who played in the NHL from 1940-2010.. It will have everything from overalls to potentials to player types.. Whenever I finish all that I will probably also work on getting facials done for everyone too so that way anyone can create whoever they want.. This project will probably take years of work but I think it could be really beneficial. The reason I am not doing prior to 1940 is the lack of information we have for players from the early 1900s. But maybe once we get this 70 year period done we could add earlier players.. What do you guys think?

Wow that’s gonna be some project but it would be insane to have that resource to use. I know I would for sure use it to create historic rosters and would help make things easier.
