The downhill skier will ease up if they know they're goin kill everyone else. :sarcasm:

The speed skater will stop if he's too far ahead of the 2nd place person. :sarcasm:

The figure skater will fall on purpose cause she knows the 2nd place girl can't catch her. :sarcasm:

This is the Olympics not billy bobs backyard weekend sports week.

Go all out all the time or don't go at all.

i think it just shows that in international hockey the canadians want to show they are best so they just blow the bad teams out of the water. To me that shows no class at all, ive been very disapointed by the canadian fans since the world juniors when they booo'ed the USA national anthem, but now the players start to show no class like thier fans by not respecting their apponants by murdering them on the score sheet. If the Canadian women murder the next team they play, it will just give the americans and everyone else more reason to say they have no class. I think they have enough goals to get to the gold medal game without a tie braker. I wont be surprized if the Canadian men will run up the score agianst the bad teams either!

This is the Olympics for crying out loud. These other countries have to step up to the plate. Otherwise they might as well not send a team. This isn't little league t-ball here. Are teams going to start asking for "participation" medals?

I don't know if I would get angry at team Canada. I mean, they could probably have spotted Italy a lot more goals than that if they had really wanted to.

What did the U.S. women want? A 1-0 Canada victory even though Canada was the far superior team :dunno:

Too bad all of those scenarios aren't true. It might help Canada gain a little more respect in the Summer and Winter Olympics.

You'd think the last thing Team USA would be looking to do is give Canada more motivation to hand them their asses. Man, they never learn.

And defenceman Angela Ruggiero questions why the Canadian women put 16 goals past Italy and 12 past Russia.

''I'm upset that Canada has been running up the score, especially against the host nation,'' Ruggiero was quoted Monday on SI.com, Sports illustrated's website. ''

:biglaugh: :biglaugh: :biglaugh:

what does Angela Ruggiero think about Sweden blowing out italy 11-0? and outshooting them 52-4 today ? blame canada? :biglaugh:

Sweden 11 Italy 0

Canada's women are just showing that women's ice hockey should not be an Olympic sport. That's all.

"Sport" means competition, unpredictable results. But in women's ice hockey, only 2 countries can compeat. It's absurd. Maybe the Olympic commitee should consider including some "regional" sports that are played in only 1 or 2 countries ...
When men's hockey first started at the Olympics? Do you think right at the bat Canada had competitive opponents? Have you thought about that?

The Russian coach was interviewed after the game and the FIRST thing she said was thank you to the Canadian team for NOT running the score and easing off their game.

The team with the higher goal differential is going to get last-change during the Gold Medal game, so either blame the IIHF for using this rule (and thus forcing teams to run up the score), or suggest another idea...

Put the US and Canada in the same pool so they have to play eachother once. Whoever wins that gets home ice advantage.

Canadian star Hayley Wickenheiser would like to see a mercy rule in international play.

''The IIHF might want to look at a 10-goal differential,'' she said. ''It's been pretty disappointing. I was . . . surprised it was like that. I thought it was going to be closer. That's not great hockey.''

I couldn't agree with her more. I lose so much interest when scores get that high. I feel asleep during Canada's last game because I just cannot focus on a game when the score is 437843-0 in the first 10 minutes. :joker: I really wish there was more competition. I'm so bored already, I just want to get to the gold medal game, and what kind of fun does that make this tournament. It's not even a tournament, it's just warm up for the Canadians and Americans lol. I really do hope women's hockey doesn't get the shaft like softball and has a change to grow more competitive.

But honestly, you people are making this into a Canada/USA war again, enough is enough with that BS crap! Enough calling the American cry babies with the boo hoo ****ing crap. We just went through this a month ago, does it NEED to happen again? Christ.

3 things about the woman's hockey.

1. I wonder if the US sent their own ref, like in Salt Lake, so they at least have a chance in the final.
2. I wonder if they still have the Canadian flag on their dressing room floor.
3. They really shouldn't have a silver medal in this event because when the US lose the final, they'll have beaten nobody.

You are.....UGH I won't even say it. I cannot believe ANYONE actually believes that flag story. Some moron made it up. If it's SO true, where is the proof?

To show exaclty how noble this clown of a women is, she is the same one that was on the 2002 team that walked all over the Canadian flag on the floor.

Not to bad of a looker for a ****, but sounds like a real hypocrit.

Thanks for the lecture, though. Don't forget to wipe your *** with another flag when your done.
You're another one. Where is the proof? I don't understand how people can believe that story and then say stuff like this.

i think this is just total hipocracy by Ruggiero, in international hockey it's required to pad your stats because if it comes down to one goal on the tie breaker, canada could give up home ice advantage in the gold medal game to the us, becuase unless something strange happens it'll be undefeated canada vs. undefeated USA and it will come down to canada's goal differential to usa's goal differential and with the way canada has played they're now gonna win that tie breaker and she's frusturated cause clearly her team isn't good enough to put up the stats so instead of working harder she goes to the papers and *****es and wines about it... grow up, your making your team look bad because you as a single person on team usa feels you have to complain and it puts a reflection on your team when i bet atleast half of them would agree that it would be better to work their *** off and try to score more rather than *****ing to the papers about the way that other teams are winning.

Team Canada 2002 Women's team, after the game, told the media.

Who saw it? This has been denied for the past 4 years, I cannot believe it's still being talked about.

I can easily make that story up too. After the Canadian women beat the Americans in 2002 do you know what they did?! They went into their locker room and stomped all over the American flag and shred it to pieces! :amazed:
