Noesen SHOULD work with any C here atm:
G
McCann
Bleuger
Lafferty

As i mentioned earlier, his game is sorta Justin Williams-esque. He's not gonna burn guys with speed but he's smart, has an NHL shot and will go to the blue paint for the garbage.

I'd prefer bringing another speedster back up with him(AJ or Blender) and start sitting some regulars that just aren't doin' the job.

ETA:
Just countin' bodies here...
Looks like they'll have to bring someone else back up...

Jake-G-Tanev
Chucky-McCann-Kahun
ZAR-Blueger-Simon
x-Lafferty-Noesen

Thats all the healthy bodies if Rust/Horny remain out.
My selection would be AJ. Playin' really well in WB atm.
Try something different? DiPauli.
Who it will probably be? Blender.

Hopefully Noesen has gained some confidence in the AHL.

Two years ago he contributed nicely to the Devils.

His last half-year in the NHL he potted 3 goals and 8 points tho.

I'd take Blandisi and his speed 10 times out of 10 over the latter...

When we are at the point of counting the days until season-long slug Justin Schultz returns to the lineup... it's gotta be pretty bad.

And no Andy, I don't disagree.

Just assume Riiko's playin' D cuz he was there in today's practice.
Wonder why they didn't do set pairs today, they rotated with everyone.
Perhaps Sully's at the point where who ever is going best on LD vs MP/JJ being penciled in for that gets the most ice time on that side. Riiko enters the competition...

Makes me wonder if there is a deal in place for a Forward to go out for a Defenseman coming back.

He and Petts havent even been that good...that tells you how terrible having both Trotman, who can’t clear the puck, and Ruh, who takes 2 penalties a game, in the lineup is

We're only at 45?

I'm like 95% that is not right, their contracts do slide by a year but they still count towards the total amount of NHL contacts.

Edit: after reading capfriendly I'm not sure again, so I'm not going to comment

Capfriendly says the contracts "slide, or extended", which I'm interpret to mean "a year is added when you slide a year". But they later say that a contract from 2015-2018 that "slides" 1 year is a contract from 2016-2019. So I have no clue, because "extended" is not the right word there if the contract just gets pushed off by a year.

Found this... I'm guessing the above players fall under this rule?

A team may not have more than 50 players under contract at any point during the season. This limit includes players on injured reserve or long-term injured reserve.
  • Exception: An 18- or 19-year-old player with remaining major junior eligibility, or a player who is drafted from a European team who is then selected in the CHL Import Draft, does not count toward the contract limit until he has played at least 11 NHL games, if the player is assigned to his major-junior team only

Still doesn't completely make sense to me.

This definitely applies for Addison, Poulin and Legare, but I don't think Hallander falls in this group since he's playing in Sweden. That would leave the Penguins at 46.

I don't think it makes a big deal though, because even if the Penguins were at 49, I'm not expecting them to add multiple players without shipping out a player or 2.

Wasn't there a thing a week or so back about an NHL team exec. saying CF's numbers aren't right to the tee on these specific contract numbers or was it something else?

So do we have time lines for all the injuries?

Sid's out at least a couple more weeks.

Dumoulin for 2 months.

PH who knows.

But what about Rust and Schultz?

Even with all the injuries, don't care much about Bjugstad.

If we have to go the rest of this month without all those guys, could be a season ender.

Rust is supposedly day to day and Schultz will resume practice soon.

I did say i would sign Noesen+get him up here and bring up AJ too.
Right now Agg's, AJ and Noesen are stirring the drink for Wilkes and all are NHL capable.

I think what happens with Noesen is is miscast in a 4th line NHL role.
His game is sorta Justin Williams-esque and should be played in the top 9 scoring role BUT i do wonder if it's a speed issue. Theres nothing left but to try him now if Horny's out. Already know what AJ, Agg's bring.
he can't be slower than Horny,

Seems like a bad call to call up Blandisi for one game just to expose him to waivers. He'll probably clear but at this rate, why risk it.

JR should get on the horn with Justin Williams. Smooth talk him over some PF Changs.
