Its been a great 13 years Marty. And you scored the 2 biggest goals in franchise history. yo0u will always be a King!

Kinda sad how all 3 of the guys that scored the 2014 Cup Winner are all gone.

I can remember a random Red Wings fan, after Martinez may have scored either during the game, or the game winner, or something, and this was back very early in his career, probably 2010, asked "who is Martinez?", or something like that. Sort of came out of nowhere. One of those nothing mid round picks that ended up carving out a significant career. The pick ahead of him, the pick behind him, never did anything. Likely the best player from the 4th round in 2007.

Sad Martinez had to go. At least the Kings got something for him. Was the second rounder this year for the 49th pick or 60th pick?Any ideas?LA has the 33rd, 51st from Van and 64th in the 3rd round so far.Sure would like if the Kings got the 49th pick instead of the 60th which is kind of like a 3rd rounder

As of right now the vegas pick for 2020 would land in the high 40's. They currently sit at 13th overall in the league standings. Hopefully they go on a big losing streak and drops a few spots in the standings.

I like your thinking!
That's a for sure then because Vegas has the Pittsburgh pick for taking MA Fleury in the expansion draft...

The vets are almost gone, the culture is changing, hopefully to bigger and better things... Marty was awesome. He will do well in Vegas. Depressing that we have to play against him so much before his deal is up, but I will always wish him the best. Glad we are finally getting something for these guys.

I put the 2014 cup clinching goal picture of Clifford and Amart hugging with Toffoli coming over to celebrate as my background on my work computer. This 1 is tough but it’s the right move for the team...we will miss him!

As a Kings fan I am so proud of Marty's accomplishments as a hockey player and contributions to the franchise, team and fans. Same as with Cliffy, Soupy, Toffoli, and many other former Kings, he'll always be "one of my guys."

He had me crying man tears sometime around 1:30am Eastern Time early the morning of June 14, 2014. Memories to last a lifetime.

Akways will be one of my favourite Kings.

Thanks Jazz Hands and best of luck in Vegas.

It stings, but it's the right move.

What a f***ing legend. Guy showed more heart in the last few weeks than anyone else did all year.

Totally underrated player, too. Even if he's 'only' a #4-#6 guy now, there's just one more reason that 2012 squad was so incredible--Greene and Martinez being on the ice for 0 ES goals against all run. He gives you an advantage from the lower part of the lineup. When many other teams are looking for specialists (PP2/PK2) and guys that just aren't liabilities in that spot, Martinez gives you an honest, hard, all around game from either side of the ice and in any on-ice situation and can play up if needed as we've no doubt seen.

Trevor Lewis won unsung hero all the time, it's a bit sad that Martinez never did, one of those guys whose role is somehow both captured in legend in big moments, and also overlooked much of the rest of the time.
