Bobs GAA 2.18

Bobs Save % .922

PP % 14.7

PK rank 10th

Don't think anyone is going to have outstanding stats this year, I just believe we have a very cohesive team with a defined identity. 96 points would have put us at 12th place in the league in 2011-12, which is about where I see us – a little better than half the league over an 82 game schedule.

3 keys to the season besides Bob:
1.) Power play must be at least mediocre
2.) Must be in or within four points of playoff position before the Olympic break
3.) Horton must be as advertised OR Jarmo makes a trade at/before the deadline for more proven NHL scoring

3 Keys to the Season besides Bob:

Finding offense on a nightly basis. If the Jackets do this, they will be successful.

Who steps up and takes the reigns? Does Dubinsky become the captain? Does someone step out of the shadows and become that legitimate secondary weapon (ie, Johansen?)

The play and development of the team identity. Speaks for itself ... These guys will have to work hard for one another to win, just like last year.

3 Keys besides Bob:

An actual first line to take pressure off the second line. I think the CAA line will actually put up just about 15% less points than the JDG line.

If the UJF line isn't scoring, they're shutting down the opponents first line almost every night. That line becomes our basis in the PK with adding Dubinsky.

Our defenseman are committed to keeping Bob from being bombarded every night. Have to keep JJ and Wiz from jumping up too often to play offense (which will help that both will have stable defensive partners in Toots and Murray).

Powerplay. Powerplay. Powerplay. If it's not better than 28th in the league, we're not going anywhere postseason wise.

Brandon Dubinsky. If he can be an offensive leader like lots of us are predicting, season will go a lot more smoothly than if not.

Young Guns. We have to get good years from Atkinson, Calvert, and Johansen in order to have enough depth up front. Jenner and Murray are welcome additions, but I'm not expecting huge years from either like I am with these other three.

Prediction: Savard, after not getting sent to the AHL and being exposed to waivers, is being retained for the purpose of being traded. Getting something instead of nothing.
