I wonder if SJ will be able to score enough goals. Their wing depth is terrible.

But right now, Pavelski + Burns + Jones > Stepan + OEL + Raanta

Really? Their wingers are young but surely not bad. They have Pavelski, Meier, Labanc, Hansen, Donskoi, Boedker, Karlsson, Sorensen and Ward. If they need more goals, they can always move Hertl to the wing. They should also have interesting prospects with the barracuda.

Very unpredictable this year. So much is riding on the young guys. If they're average I think we could finish around 10th last. If they're great, we could be in a playoff spot all season long. 3 most important players IMO are Raanta, Keller, and Strome. If one of them has a huge season I think we finish a few spots out of the playoffs. If 2 of them do, we'll be in the race all season long. If all 3 do, I think we make it for sure. I do think there's a good chance that Raanta is quite good, and that Keller could hit 60 points. Unsure about Strome, right now I'm just hoping he can replicate Dvorak's point totals from last season and show potential for 2018/19...

We've had a full blown leadership and coaching turnover. The roster is going to be extremely young and inexperienced. I think we will struggle hard out of the gate and eventually get our act together and finish strong. I think we will choose to sit on our hands at the deadline, citing our progress and we will be rewarded with a great finish and a ton of hope for next season. Something like:

First 21gp - 5-13-3
Next 20gp - 8-11-1
Next 20gp - 10-8-2
Final 21gp - 15-4-2

1st Half: 13-24-4 (26-48-8 - 60pt pace)
2nd Half: 25-12-4 (50-24-8 - 108pt pace)
Full Season: 38-36-8 - 84pts

We FINALLY get some lottery luck and move from 9th to the top 3.

I think it is imperative that the team gets off to a good start and gain confidence. I hope teams take us lightly and we can surprise. IF they get off to a slow start there is no way I see them finishing strong as teams start to gear up for the playoffs and wins come much harder in the second half of the season. I do not see the Coyotes on a 108 pt. pace, or close to it. A 108 pt. pace you are talking Pittsburgh good. Not going to happen, not yet.

108 point pace is extremely difficult to sustain over the long haul. Consistency is the differentiator. I by no means think the Coyotes can pull off that pace over the course of a season. That's the point. I expect the team to gel, young guys to step up, and things to come together late in the year. There was so much turnover this summer, I believe we are absolutely doomed to a slow start. We're like a really bad tournament team or a really good expansion team. Either way it's a bunch of new guys and staff just chucked together. Structure, roles, and identity take time. Time and real games that actually count. Not exhibition.

I think your pt. could be close, but your first quarter and last quarter is where I disagree. Either way, I want to see the kids keep progressing, and that alone will make it a good year for me.

If we are that good at the end of the season we will make the playoffs. We almost can't be that bad at the beginning with this young team and that good during the toughest stretch of the season. I can see the reasons for a slow start, but I also see us maybe catching teams that are not playing their systems well at the start of the season. We really need a good first 25 games. After that systems kick in, and the last 20 games, all teams fighting for a playoff birth will be sharp and won't take anyone lightly any more. 84 points I can see.

The results won't really be there in the standings yet but the on ice product will noticeably improve and the fan base will finally start having hope again. I think they'll finish in the 8-12 range and pick there as well (there is no such thing as draft good luck for the Coyotes). Assuming the arena situation doesn't **** it up (a big assumption), I think we all head into the off season feeling extremely optimistic about the 18-19 season!

Oh and if he stays healthy, Domi is going to crack 60pts, I guarantee it.

Posted the tweet in the training camp thread but Kevin Allen has us ending up 5th in the Pacific with 92 points.
That seems realistic, but again I think we're a very hard to predict team because of how many questions we have at key positions.

Coyotes finish with 97 points and finish second in the Pacific. Keller scores 33 goals to go along with 45 assists to take home the Calder. Coyotes make it to the Western Conference Finals and lose in 7 to the Preds.

I wonder what the return might be for Duchene and Varlamov if interrested?

Domingue, Rieder and a defense prospect?

If we could get Duchene and Varlamov for Domingue, Rieder, and, say, Dysin Mayo, Chayka would earn his spot on Mount Olympus with the other gods.
