6-year deal is interesting

I assume that was price to get him to come to the mess that is Texans and how they have gone thru 4 coaches in 3 years

Should provide him some job security

Be interesting to see who he brings in for OC

SF cleaning up on these management/coaching comp picks. Saleh, McDaniel, Carthon, now Ryans.

Don’t get this either.

About the worst situation to walk in as head coach.
The chances you get are limited

Not really

They have a ton of draft picks including #2 overall this year.

Texans could very well turn this around quickly if they hit on picks and make some good FA signings

They have some good young pieces already on roster

2 first round picks and 3 picks in the top 75 will be fun though.

And with Easterby gone and a new GM in place, maybe Texans ownership learned their lesson to back off and remove the tent revival elements from football operations. This could be a good job if ownership is out of the picture.

Not at all, as others have mentioned he has two top 15 picks and he has is a very popular player here. Football basically has been dead in Houston the past 3 years, basically since they traded Hopkins. He will be given time to turn this around.
