I don't know what to think other than if he doesn't show a more concerted commitment here...conditioning etc...then guess it will be Ben's team...

But.....a new coach here in Philly might also be in order..

It already is Ben's team, Ben has the fire and work ethic to take up another level or two the next few years as he fills out.

Trading Embiid would be difficult (require multiple teams) but not impossible, but that's years away.
You'd then get an athletic shot blocking center to pair with Ben.

The real problem is Embiid shouldn't be the focal point of the offense, the team slows down too much when they try to feed him the ball.
Instead, he needs to learn to get rid of the ball instead of forcing bad shots against double teams, then reset in the post for a pass as the ball moves around the perimeter of the zone. So he becomes an option when in position, otherwise the ball keeps moving.
When the ball freezes, the Sixer offense goes cold.

The real problem is Brand wanted dinosaur ball, and Embiid - Horford - Harris is too slow of a front court in today's NBA.
So start Thybelle/Korkmaz/Robinson at SF, and make Horford the back C and Harris the PF.
Given Embiid's conditioning and Horford's knees, limiting them to 50 minutes or so lets both play at high speed when in the game, and allows Brown to field a "small" team that can run with anyone.

Seems like everyone is coming to realize this except Brett Brown.

Theyve become a really formidable organization.
Pioneered the use of the D-League and really placed an emphasis on developing lower picks.

Yeah they mentioned today that except for Stanley Johnson who doesn't even play, the next highest drafted Raptor player is Hollis-Jefferson at #23.

That's pretty crazy.

They slow played a tough hand. For many years Toronto was anathema to NBA players. Too cold too foreign.

Bought low on Lowry. Drafted Derozan. Helped develop them into 2 of the better guards of their era.
Ran into a glass ceiling with both and knew it so they went hard drafting/developing longshots.
Built excellent depth with that strategy and then took advantage of the crumbling of the Spurs to consolidate that depth into Kawhi.

Late 1sts/2nds and college juniors/seniors have value in the NBA?! Who wouldve thought?

Just heard that during this win streak, 6 different players have scored 30 points or more. Not many teams can do that. I still think they only win 1 round this year even if they get the 2 seed.

Early days but I like the looks of this lineup, Horford, Harris, Simmons, Burks, and Matisse. Seems like it should be a nice, efficient, well rounded group.
