I don't think any team has ever had even one 2,100 point player.
Not until McDavid goes to Toronto.

That's impressiveIn the shortened 2012-13 season Marty St. Louis and Steven Stamkos finished 1 and 2 in points and the Lightning finished 3rd last in the league.
That doesn't count for me -- the 100 has to be scored with the team missing the playoffs (for obvious reasons).1996 Mighty Ducks. Selanne was a mid-season trade, but broke 100, along with Kariya.
So, there is Quebec '88 and Pittsburgh '90, and that's it!

I look at the line up of both the 1988 Nordiques and 1990 Pens and I just don't get how they missed the playoffs. The 1988 Nordiques had some good top end talent and even though their goaltending was suspect it wasn't even near the worst in the NHL. Their goals-for was 3rd worst though, which is strange when you look at their roster. Hmmmm.
The 1990 Pens were in a tough division but still you figure this team is better than the Islanders aren't they? Lots of scoring up front, good depth, but just horrible goaltending.
Wasn't that when they needed to win the final game of the regular season but lost it in overtime or something?Sad story for the 1990 Penguins. They collapsed down the stretch after Lemieux was injured (he came back for the last game of the season). In their last 13 games they had 1 win, 9 losses and 3 ties - and still only missed the playoffs by one point. They were 6th in the conference as late as March 4th, 1990.
