Please remember when starting or posting in threads on the possibility of teams moving or being relocated to follow all HF rules that are found in the FAQ. This is a very sensitive subject to many, especially when your team is the one that is being discussed. Trolling and personal attacks will not be tolerated and may result in infraction points. Your anticipated cooperation is appreciated.

Since there's been a *lot* of speculation about (insert team here) moving to (insert destination here) without any official announcement that anyone plans to move, no new threads on relocation and/or expansion should be started unless there is an official announcement by the league or any team interested in such a move ... or unless one of the moderators specifically gives the green light.

With the increased talk of Jim Balsille purchasing the Nashville Predators and moving the team to Hamilton or Kitchener-Waterloo, I feel it's necessary to put another note up concerning discussions about events and news stories surrounding this event.

This is a sensitive subject for some people, and so a certain level of decorum is required. I've tried letting the conversations just run without deleting posts, giving warnings, and booting people from threads or this particular forum ... but a small minority seem to think it's carte blanche wrt what can be said here. It's not.

For those in support of the move: understand that Nashville fans are not going to be as thrilled with this move as you are. Pointing and laughing, making obviously trollish comments, and playing the "you don't deserve a team" card in any form will not be tolerated.

For those not in support of the move: understand that while you may be incredibly displeased about current events, it doesn't not give you an excuse to lash out at people on the other side and hurl insults. Making obviously trollish comments and playing the "you don't deserve a team" card in any form will also not be tolerated.

Many people here have been pretty good about not slinging mud despite some of the discussions that have taken place, and I commend you for that. However, this post is a warning that regardless of what happens, comments attacking the other side will not be tolerated at any time. While I cannot possibly give a complete, exhaustive list of what is and what isn't acceptable, this should serve as a general guideline for what is out of bounds.

Failure to abide by the above guidelines may result in any of the following:
-- Infractions for the applicable offense,
-- Being banned from the thread where the offense took place,
-- Being banned from the Business of Hockey forum if the behavior is persistent, or
-- Being banned from HFBoards complete if the behavior is persistent or severe.

One final note - we currently have at least five (5) threads regarding this potential move. If news develops on this, please post it in one of the existing threads instead of starting a brand new thread each time there's a news story - that way the forum does not become clogged with 117 stories on the potential move, choking out other non-move topics (yes, there really are some!) that people have been discussing.

Thanks.
