EDIT: Damn why didn't I put Paul Ranger in there.

Since mine was 1982, I could easily have put a couple of vastly IMPORTANT players in the lineup: Colton Orr and of course, All Star John Scott...

The team doesn't have a lot going for it; maybe with Orr and Scott they could beat teams into submission?

Lemieux and Roy were born on the exact same day, October 5, 1965 - Just a 3-hour drive away from each other.

That’s pretty crazy. One single day in the fall of 1965 basically helped define 20 years of hockey in so many ways.

Actually, never mind 20 years. It changed hockey forever.

Forwardlines are pretty balanced,a deep and strong defence, where I have at least 5 capable of a no.1 role. And in goal, well.. there's better goalies in history, but my no.1 has some of the best seasons ever..

Good thing you're team doesn't even need a goalie, because you pretty much don't have one. Gretz, Messier, Savard, Larmer, and Coffey? Insane.

I think what this thread is forgetting, is truculence!

Team 1879: The oldest year I could find for a hockey player.
Your team would feature 1 player: Jack Laviolette. A RHD from Belleville Ontario.
I think I found his player card!!

They sure used odd looking sticks back then. No helmets or padding, game was pretty tough back in the day.
Keep your head up at all times. Randy Carlyle hockey right there. He couldn't use a toaster either. Well, cause it wasn't invented.
