Any forward group has to include Trocheck, even if he's only a warm body.

Man, USA hockey has a lot of young talent right now. It's tough leaving some of those names off. IRL, I think USA hockey would probably be more deferential to vets than I was, though.

Better take Donato and Terry to make sure there's some olympic vets on the roster for leadership.

Not sure who the #4 LW would be. Probably want a fairly reliable veteran (Parise, Oshie, etc...)

Werenski - Jones
McDonagh - Carlson
Suter/Slavin - Trouba/McAvoy

Hellebyuck

When Buff is motivated and on his game he's one of the best defenseman in the league, you've got to have him in a tournament like this imo. His physicality would also be of good help against Canada, who are always the team to beat in these tournament.

You'd have to think the way Yandle is playing that he'd be in the conversation, at least for the #7 spot on defense.

Why? We have guys that produce 5 on 5, on the PP and actually play good defense.

I don't think he is even a top 10 option on the backend for Team USA.

Yandle has spent a ton of time on bad teams where someone has to score. But bringing him as a PP specialist on the bottom pair or #7 doesn't make a ton of sense to me.

A guy no one has mentioned that I think should get one: Torey Krug. Smaller guy and not as good defensively as some other options, but he's been legitimately one of the best puck distributors in the NHL the last 2 seasons.

I agree with the poster who said Cam Atkinson has to be on the roster. He’s the one star you never hear about and yet he’s an amazing year.
