The first Swedish U16 roster for the season has been announced
Sweden U16 (all) at eliteprospects.com

full

Not knowing much outside what I saw at TV-Pucken, I am surprised that Oscar Pantzare is not there. Not sure if he is injured?

Some other notable omissions:
Helmer Styf, Hannes Hellberg, Philip Törmä, Otto Stenberg, Otto Stahre, Zeb Forsfjäll, Jonathan Larsson, Erik Påhlsson, Leo Krantz, Frans Haara, Elias Kumlin, Teodor Forssander, Rasmus Rudslätt...and probably a bunch more.

Some J18 Elit comparison (U16 players) during recent years (at least 4 games played)

Players averaging more than 1 point per game
99: 2014: 11
00: 2015: 14
01: 2016: 10
02: 2017: 5
03: 2018: 7
04: 2019: 8

Players averaging more than 0.5 points per game
99: 2014: 47
00: 2015: 53
01: 2016: 42
02: 2017: 44
03: 2018: 45
04: 2019: 30

(obviously the 2019 number will increase here once the season is done)

Watched some of the final camp scrimmages and my general impression was positive. It's difficult to say how good they are compared to previous age groups at this point though.

Lekkerimäki and Suzdalev played on the same line and put up a lot of points. Östlund and Almgren also stood out. Clearly they have been looking for skilled and mobile D, didn't see any of those pure shut down D's they usually invite. The usual suspects (Odelius and Hävelid) looked great, also found myself liking Karl Larsson a lot.

You’re mention a lot of players you would like to see in the team but who would you leave out instead?

Nope, just listing familiar names that did not make the team. It's way too early for me to have an opinion on who should be on the team or not, having only seen 10% of the players in question, yet.

Yeah, Suzdalev is looking like the big star on this team. There are definitely things he can improve but he's very, very impressive offensively. Thought a lot of players stepped up after the first game, Hävelid (the defenseman) is pretty high end. Öhgren was good in all three games and Östlund finished the tournament in a strong way. Expected a bit more out of Odelius, he didn't get anything done offensively. Lekkerimäki is a Pettersson clone in the offensive zone and on the PP but he's too weak to really have an impact 5 on 5.

How did Lagerqvist and Bystedt look? The LHC duo...

IIHF-sanctioned tournamet?

Not sure. Governing body: IIHF, according to Wikipedia. Not sure he would be eligible to play in an IIHF sanctioned event for Russia however. Dual citizens have to play 2 years of organized hockey in the country they want to represent if I'm not mistaken.

Edit: Looks like he would be able to represent both countries. The 2-year rule only applies to the new citizenship if I'm reading this correctly. IIHF - Eligibility

Well in that case Lambert would be able to play for Canada, but he can't. So I don't think Suzdalev can unless he has played 2 years in Russia.

YOG aren't full sized team tournament so probably doesn't affect eligiblity.

I wonder which Swedish draft class (2020, 2021 or 2022) will be touted as the strongest when all is said and done. 2020 is very strong, but 2022 looks very promising as well.

Is it? A lot can happen but already two years ago people agreed on Holtz and Raymond as top level talents. Are there any of that quality from the 2004 born?

I'd say neither of these classes look weak at least. The 02 and 04 age groups seem to have more top end guys but I like the depth of the 03 age group.
