Lol welcome. People actually like pettersson here unlike flashback. Kempe got some simple assists last game but wasnt really creating much. Was a reason why he was replaced.

Thank you. They do? According to what i've seen at this forum when i wasn't a member people seems to be critical to his game here aswell when he isn't good enough. And he ain't good enough at this level yet. He will obviously get there sooner or later with his talent, but he shouldn't just be on the roster because of his talent. If you're going to compete at WHC you should be good enough. Elias just isn't there yet.

There are no other options on that line. You really don't want to switch Backlund to that line when he is matching up good with Hörnqvist and Nyquist. JDLR not skilled enough.

The only thing the '98 team got over our current team is Forsberg, Sundin, & Salo. We have better depth this year; much better D and wings.

The 2012 team was the most stacked we've ever had.

you really think that johan larsson, jacob de la rose, magnus pääjärvi, kempe, nyquist is better than jörgen jönsson/sundström, peter nordström, fredrik modin, mikael renberg, ulf dahlen?

you would not rather have öhlund/norström/hävelid/johnsson instead of wikstrand?

The only player(let us be clear: the player they were in '98) out of the ones you listed that I'd have over Nyquist or Kempe is Renberg and maaaybe Dahlen. The others? Not a chance if we're getting their '98 versions. And they're not our only players are they?

Same with Wikstrand, he's not the only player, if you're trying to imply that just because of Wikstrand, this years D isn't much, much better than '98, then you're a lunatic.

IMHO Pettersson was clearly a better match with Hörnqvist Backlund than Nyquist. I don’t think Hörnqvist has been at the same level at all since Pettersson got injured, Nyquist just isn’t able to process the game as fast as Pettersson.

Btw welcome to Hfboards.

Ulf Dahlén and Renberg were top 6 wingers you can’t compare them to Kempe and Nyquist. There is far better scoring depth on this team.

And again you’re compairing top four guys to Wikstrand when we have Klingberg, OEL, Lindholm, Ekholm and Larsson.

Dahlén was an SHL player and Renberg a 38 point NHL player in 98. Hardly anything spectacular.

nothing wrong with 38 points. but he did have more than 38 points the seasons before and the seasons after. renberg was a world class forechecker who was impossible to stop when he drived to the net....huge size and one of the most hardworking players in the history of hockey, you are underating him. at the age of 36-37-38 full of injuries he was very good in a average luleå/skellefteå...

Renberg was just a complimentary player who was lucky to play with a couple of HOF centers in his NHL career. He was really not more than a 30-45 point player. There a are ton of players who work hard on the forecheck and drive the net, Renberg was hardly unique in that sense.

Sweden will propably dominate this tournament for years to come. Unless Canada decides to sent their A-team. You have so many talented players. Respect from Finland....

Also, not sure how many more times McDavid will be playing in this tourney. Team Canada is nothing speciak without him. They also have no goaltending.

45 points in nhl is very good. renberg is the hardest worker i have seen on the ice.
