What would be the strongest possible Team Sweden right now?

Alot of things have changed for Sweden since World Cup 2016.

Sedins and Zetterberg are gone.

Players like Kronwall, Steen, Loui, Kruger, Söderberg, Hagelin, Hjalmarsson is not good enough anymore.

Team Sweden right now imo:

William Karlsson - Bäckström - William Nylander
Forsberg - Wennberg - Arvidsson
Rakell - Zibanejad - Elias Lindholm
Landeskog - Backlund - Silfverberg

OEL - Karlsson
Hedman - Ekholm
Lindholm - Klingberg

Lundqvist
Lehner
Markstrom

I am just happy we are getting rid of the old slugs and are able to use our younger, faster players. It was tragic seeing some lines being like cinderblocks on skates in 2016 (Loui and Sedins especially). I want to see Forsberg/Arvidsson/Nylander a bit more together, we saw some short flashes of it in the WC this spring. I think they will be absolutely great for the NT the years to come
And that defence :naughty: If someone called me in 2010 and told me how good it would be in 2018 I would laugh in their face. The skill in there is unreal, I can't imagine we have ever been able to field anything even close to it before

I really like Ekholm, better option than Lindholm? Think we should switch system and play 3D 2F to fit the best talent on the rostet

Nylander Bäckström
Hedman Karlsson (in a QB role) Ekholm

Forsberg Zibby
Lindholm Klingberg (QB) OEL

Karlsson Arvidsson
Larsson Dahlin Larsson

Yes imo.

Think Pettersson will be the 2nd line center after this season.

I mean... Bratt definitely surprised everyone last season, but to think that he will be a national team first liner after upcoming season is a far, far reach imo. Should not under any circumstances split Forsberg & Arvidsson either.
Even Silfverberg & Elias Lindholm have a better shot than Bratt i would think (might even throw Nyquist into the discussion).

It's much less of a reach to assume that Dahlin will take a top 6 spot on D.

Maybe not these lines but I think the players in OP's lineup is pretty spot on. I think Hörnqvist is on the team right now though, over Lindholm or Silfverberg. And I think Pettersson, Kempe and Burakovsky will start to make a great case for themselves this season.

Dahlin is on the team sooner or later if he just reaches parts of his potential, but as of today quite a bit to go still. Hope to see him in the WCH in the spring.

I'm big on Bratt so that's why he's there , but yeah as it looks like right now his confidence has taken a strike after that second half of last year, if he gets his confidence back he imo should very well be the #1 RW(which isn't a very deep position for Sweden.)

I have a really hard time seeing Dahlin as a top 6 guy after a year, if he was from a country that isn't Sweden(or Canada) he probably would be.

He is a good player. But i dont see how he is better than Landeskog, Backlund, Silfverberg.

I think he’s getting there. I think the last couple seasons he’s put himself squarely in the best bottom six players in the league conversation. Great player to use on a fourth line.

My try before reading the thread:

Forsberg - W. Karlsson - Arvidsson
Landeskog - Bäckström - Nylander
Rakell - Zibanejad - Hörnqvist
Steen - Backlund - Burakovsky

Ekholm - Karlsson
Hedman - Lindholm
OEL - Klingberg

Rakell is superior to Landeskog obviously but he and Zibanejad were dynamite together last time they played. Landeskog also adds some toughness to line 2.

Euro Hockey Tour is just 1 month away, the team should be named in 2-3 weeks.

What i want to see:

Videll - Lander - A.Petersson
Lilja - Josefson - Brodin
J.Davidsson - Rasmussen - Sörensen
Tedenby - Händemark - Wingerli

Holm - Hersley
Lööv - Junland
Djuse - Bengtsson

Niklas Svedberg
Johan Monster Gustavsson
Oscar Alsenfeldt

Videll have been good in KHL for years, and now he has 18 points in 11 games, he has exploded. Lander and Andre Petersson is doing a good job in KHL.

second line is dominating in SHL.

Sörensen and J.Davidsson are intresting players.

Tedenby and Wingerli off to a good start in SHL, 2 very speedy players with Eric Lindros in the middle.

Djuse and Bengtsson should be tested, they are top defenders in SHL.

Holm, Hersley and Junland are producing lots of points in KHL/NLA.

Lööv seems to play a good physical defensive style game for Jokerit, since Bertilsson and Ahenlöv seems off its time for Lööv to step in.

We have Lindbäck, Lasse Johansson, Hellberg, Enroth.....we all know what they can. But i hope this tournament is for Svedberg and Monstret and Alsenfeldt.

Omark and Axelsson will not play for tre kronor anymore:

Dick Axelsson berättar sanningen – därför vägrar han spela i Tre Kronor

Omark oviss kring framtiden i Tre Kronor

i have different lineup now, the start of the season so far have changed things. elias pettersson is for sure a man for this team. landeskog and elias lindholm should both play in top 9,

Forsberg - Pettersson - Arvidsson
Landeskog - Bäckström - W.Nylander
Rakell - Zibanejad - Lindholm
Silfverberg - Wennberg - Karlsson

OEL - Karlsson
Hedman - Ekholm
Lindholm - Klingberg

Lundqvist
Lehner
Nilsson

Almost nobody has Elias Lindholm in their team, he is for sure a man for this team, his start in Calgary is not by chance, finally Lindholm have quality linemates. He will end with 60-70 points in NHL, and he got grit. He would be perfect with Rakell and Zibanejad.

I am not sure about my 4th line.....but yeah all 3 of them are good players.

Goalies....Nilsson or Markström...? Hmm...

Extras (13 & 14 forward and 7 & 8 dman) i want Backlund/M.Johansson and N.Hjalmarsson/Strålman.

we need a best on best tournament right NOW, this team is as good as canada, usa, russia.
