He's not playing today in a 13F lineup, which is making me lean towards his absence not having been a choice.

Dower Nilsson - Östlund - Bystedt - Eljas would still be a good center lineup imo.

Looks decent with Östlund. Would surprise me if they didn't use him as a winger though. Much of the offense will come from the wing.

My hope is that with the offense already at wing, they allow Östlund, who has played center full-time in J20 and now seemingly is 178cm(according to EP), to play center. My dream top-9 for players involved(which I doubt happens) is:

Persson - Dower Nilsson - Lysell
Rosén - Östlund - Robertsson
Strömgren - Bystedt - Moberg

Which looks really solid.

Changes to the U19 team, 2003s: Theo Jacobsson out, Lucas Forsell in.

2002s changes are: Linus Lööf, & Torgersson out. Stenman+Säll in.

Makes me smile to see sons of former players.

We all know how good Nicklas Hävelid was. Very underated player, should have been on that World Cup 2004 team instead of someone like Daniel Tjärnqvist.

Bert Robertsson was good too....even made it to NHL.

So:

H.Hävelid, Aho, Asplund, & Holmli in for Jansson, Angesved, & Oscarson. Would've liked Bystedt as the 3C, but, but...

Jansson impressed me way more than a handful of defensemen who made the team. Not sure what they see in a guy like Aho at all.

What can you guys tell me about Victor Stjernborg? Looks like he had a decent season for a 17 year old but he wasn't even invited for this tourny?

Stjernborg was a lock for this team but couldn't go.
Thanks for the response! Covid Related? Or injury? He has me interested after digging into him a little. Is he actually 5'11" or closer to his other listed height of 5'9"?

His SHL team is on a playoff run. That's likely why. Probably 5'11, old measurements tend to stick for a while on some sites.

Thought they played an okay game against the US despite the score. Much better showing compared to the practice games against U19 at least. Meh goaltending, poor discipline and a couple of weak shifts in the 2nd half of the game was the difference. I expect better chemistry among forwards as the tournament progresses, too much 1-on-1 in this one.

Edvinsson looked good, anyone know why he didn't play in the 3rd? I also didn't see Strömgren on the ice very much in this game

They won and they got goals from key players. All you can hope for in an opening game against Belarus. They were big and strong and they could skate.

- Some weird looking lines and a weird looking PP.

- Rosén must be turning some heads.

Btw. If anyone wants to watch these games afterwards then I can help with that.
