Söderholm made some questionable decisions (Sezemsky Bokk Endras Bergmann scratched yesterday),but hey
four wins and the quarterfinal is looming .:partytime:

I will give him huge thumbs up about Endras decision. You don't need a veteran goalie who has just won the finals as a third goalie, he deserves some rest. Or a more important role. But with Niederberger playing the way he is Endras really doesn't warrant a bigger role. To me personally, since I didn't know him before, Niederberger has been one of the most pleasant surprises of this WC.

Bokk, on the other hand, should have been on the team but this is fine, he can just calmly prepare for the next season. At this level, he isn't some game-breaking force yet.

Germany's first team since 89 years to start a WC with 4 wins.
The more useless stats you know!

Out of German teams, that is. Russia won all seven preliminary round games and three elimination round games in regulation in 2012 and 2014 and Canada did the same in 2015.
And Finland 16 till final!

1.39 million viewers in germany watched the game against slovaks. This is a new viewer record in german ice hockey.

Curious how big attendance there would be if Hockey was broadcasted on public channel like ZDF or so.

Was not a budgeted win anyway, although stealing one of the remaining two would help in avoiding Russia.
