I think he will skip the bronze medal game, however Pulju will still probably miss the game against the Czechs

Who will get cut for Finland's team when Puljujärvi arrives to Grand Forks.
And does Finland has 13th forward if they will have who it will be

Id definetly want to see Vesalainen with Tolvanen on same line.. they were dynamite duo in the u17 hockey challenge

Tolvanen Ikonen Vesalainen was dynamic line in U17 hockey challenge.
Too bad Ikonen wasn't available for this U18 WJC tournament.

Without injuries that line ( Tolvanen Ikonen Vesalainen) plays together next world juniors in Montreal

The first 3+18 have been registered for the tournament:

Laakso
Luukkonen
Halonen

Salo
Välimäki
Vaakanainen
Niemeläinen
Jokiharju
Heiskanen

Jääskä
Vesalainen
Moilanen
Koppanen
Kuokkanen
Tuulola
Tolvanen
Räsänen
Oksanen
Somppi
Mäkinen
Nurmi

So maybe something like this:

Oksanen - Mäkinen - Kuokkanen
Vesalainen - Räsänen/Somppi - Tolvanen
Tuulola - Somppi/Räsänen - Nurmi
Moilanen - Koppanen - Jääskä

Välimäki - Jokiharju
Salo - Niemeläinen
Heiskanen - Vaakanainen

Laakso
Luukkonen
Halonen

What's holding Koivula back in the national team? Or are there just not enough roster spots? He had a great ASM playoffs and was selected as MVP.

Jääskä and Moilanen are better options for the 4th line and there are more skilled players for the top3 lines. Just unlucky really.

Okay thanks. I was meaning more in general, what do you guys think are the reasons behind him not doing too well in the NT despite having a fantastic season with Ilves?

His skating is holding him back. Ahokas seems to prefer fast skating wingers.

Moilanen got injured yesterday after taking a slapshot on his hand. Hopefully Pulju is ready for next game if he comes.

So, where does Puljujärvi fit in the line-up?

My take based on the last game:

Vesalainen - Räsänen - Tolvanen
Kuokkanen - Mäkinen - Oksanen
Tuulola - Somppi - Puljujärvi
Jääskä - Koppanen - Nurmi

Hopefully Luukkonen/Halonen plays rest of the games. 3-4 soft goals by Laakso in 2 games is just too much.

Are you guessing for 3 scoring lines or 3rd line minutes for Pulju?

I don't see him playing 3rd line minutes.

While it may not be a good idea to break combinations that work as it is, it should be pretty obvious that whichever line Pulju goes in will be the 1st line from there on out.

Somppi hasn't been very good so hopefully they don't waste Puljujärvi with him, Kuokkanen is much better suited for LW than RW too so:

Kuokkanen-Mäkinen-Puljujärvi
Vesalainen-Räsänen-Tolvanen
Oksanen-Somppi-Tuulola
Jääskä-Koppanen-Nurmi/Moilanen

PP

Räsänen-Vesalainen-Tolvanen
Puljujärvi-Heiskanen

Tuulola-Mäkinen-Kuokkanen
Oksanen-Välimäki

Obviously I was just trying to keep the lines that work together. Puljujärvi should get all the ice time he can bear. What I really would like to see is Vesalainen - Kuokkanen - Puljujärvi line, as I understand that Kuokkanen can also play as a C.
