Worst possible opponent and Finland had to get that opponent.

Let's see if Sweden can score early in the RUS game, something like 2-0 start after the first period could make that game very interesting to watch with that 3 goal or more margin and three way tie in mind.

I think you still have decent chance to beat them but it requires good goalie effort as Sweden score many goals -> Sweden scored 37, Czechs 39 and Russia surprisingly 29 only.

Czechs won against Sweden. The Swiss tied the Czechs before the empty netter. With that said, all those teams are competitive. Could be good to play against Sweden. No one, nobody counts on Finland. Sweden has everything to loose. So what if we loose with five goals? That should be expected. I´m glad to play against Sweden, it will probably get more intense than against the Swiss.

Personally i fear Gusev, Kucherov and the great Kuznetsov and Russias goalies even more than Sweden.

Well Latvia also tied Sweden and pulled goalie to give chance for empty netter for Sweden. Not to say Swiss almost beat Swedes as well. Those 3 teams are very comparable this year, Sweden can prove us wrong tonight.

I really hope we can win, you know why? Because Leijonat on Leijonat and i just saw Grönborg acting like a true d*ck against the reporters, no respect for him what so ever. Well, there is a 10-15% chance. Great goaltending and a hard working team with better shooting is the only way.

Yes but Sweden is a big nemesis for Suomi!

I would so love to see Kakko tried with another center. Manninen could make Rajala light up too...

somewhere around nothing
Most hard working team in the tournament, team with no-quit mentality. Defense first, will be obvious game plan.

Hope dies last, remember 1992, 1998 and 2014.

Like i said most hard working in the tournament, and it was proved again. This team don't know the word quit. Russia you're next neighbor.

btw. Villi Kortti nailed their World championship tournament theme song this year. "Mimmit eka Espoon räjäyttää, sit Bratislava sekasi pistetään”

I hope these are not the lines you wanna see when playing best on best. You listed four finnish players before Barkov. Should not happen.

That's how I would build up the team. Kakko should be there at this time next year. Good list tho.

Koivu might be good for one more skoda cup, but not for best on best. Way too slow.
I'd use the MTL line as the 4th line. They have decent chemistry and are a good shutdown line with lots of energy.
Laine - Barkov - Rantanen
Kakko- Aho - TT
Kapanen - Hintz - Granny
Lehkonen- Kotka- Armia

I would still pick him. He is not done yet. Kakko on the other hand is still a green fruit.
Agreed. Not done, yet. But he most likely will be by the time we have another best on best. On the other hand, I hope to see him next year for most likely his last skoda cup appearance.
