People are always putting young guys in thinking that 2014 is far away.

It's not that far away.

Agreed on Cowen, he has a lot to prove before he'll make an Olympic team. Like, for example, proving to be not only a regular NHL player, but an elite one.

People seem to think that 3 years is a short period of time. Of course that means that Cowen needs to prove a lot, but he's very talented and I think he will prove himself as one of the top shut-down, if not the top, Ds in the league by 2014.

Eberle is a clutch performer and works. It's not that I don't like Duchene, either, I just think the other centres will be better in the future. Obviously roles are taken into account too. Isn't Hall a LW anyway?

Also love people writing off Couturier as though he doesn't have the potential to be one of the best two-way centres in the league in a few years.

During the next Olympics, Couturier will be 21 and Cowen 22.

The only players on 2010 Team Canada who were 22 or younger were Jonathan Toews, and Drew Doughty. Both made the NHL as teenagers, Toews would win the Conn Smyth, Doughty is a Norris finalist at age 20.

And 2010 Team Canada was a very young team.

May he prove to be a good two-way center? It is possible.
