Schenn/M Staal over Alzner, Subban. With that many good offensive guys, having a shutdown guy is vital. They're both better at D than Alz/Subban, and can still produce some offense.

Spezza will be there if injury problems don't possess. Too much talent and it's all finally coming together. He's playing the best hockey of his life.

I don't think Brown would crack the roster due to the fact he played for the American side in 2010. Might be tough to get him a passport.

There is no doubt in my mind on the following:

______-Crosby-Stamkos
______-Getzlaf-Perry
Nash-Toews-Richards
______-______-______

Weber-Doughty
_____-______
_____-______

Fleury-Luongo-Price

Get the **** out of here. He barely makes the World Championship team, and the only reason why he is there is because of Nonis taking the homer pick. He has no business on the World stage as he has yet to prove anything at the NHL level.

Lol this kid is mad. Besides, how would you know Reimer won't improve his game to a comparable elite level.

Ill put my boy Marty St-Louis if he's still around and producing.

He should have been there in 2010 in my opinion, but its hard to argue with success. We'll see how he's doing in 2014, he's not young, but I've heard he trains crazy hard so he may be able to keep getting it down in 3 years.

I could still see Iginla making it, this is going to be a very young team without a veteran or two.

i can't see into the future, but i'm pretty sure benn will not make that team over hall. it's not a slight against benn, he's a good young player, but taylor hall has the potential to be a top 10 forward in the NHL in 3 years from now. the only way i can see benn being there over hall is if injuries get to hall early in his career.

I've included their ages as well. You'll notice that there are a couple of guys that are 21/22 but will have 3.5 years in the league by the time we have to go into soulless Russia.

Taylor Hall 22 Sydney Crosby 26 John Taveres 23
Matt Duchene 23 Ryan Getzlaf 29 Corry Perry 29
Steve Stamkos 24 Eric Staal 29 Rich Nash 29
Milan Lucic 25 Jon Toews 25 Mike Richards 29

Sub: Jeff Skinner 21

Tyler Myers 24 Drew Doughty 24
Kris Letang 26 Shea Weber 28
Duncan Keith 30 Brent Seabrook 29
Luke Schenn 24

Sub: PK Subban 24

Marc-Andre Fleury 29
Carry Price 26
Roberto Luongo 35

I'd rather have Benn on a fourth line then Hall.

The best Canadian winger didn't make the 2010 team either. The "Best" players don't make the best team.

This.

As Herbs Brooks said, its not about picking the best players, its about picking the right ones.

Jamie Benn will be on Team Canada if he progresses even half of what hes progressed over the last year. He can skate, shoot, play PK, isnt afraid to hit, just a solid all-around player. He would be a perfect 4th line guy, or on the flip side, a perfect 3rd wheel to two skill guys.

My problem with peoples selections is that there are way to many centers. In Vancouver we had 6 centers if you exclude Bergeron (who just as equally counts as a winger).

Realistically, Canada is bringing a max of 7 centers. And the key thing is, favour will be given to those who have played the wing -- Tavares, Mike Richards etc. Also, anyone who has a line of 3 centers should change that. It will not happen.

Some combinations that I think would work well:

1. Hall - Crosby - Giroux
2. Benn - Getzlaf - Perry
3. Nash - Toews - Richards (remain intact)
4. Tavares - Stamkos - Duchene

(It would also be cool to see E.Kane - Tavares - Duchene 2009 draft line)

Keeping in mind that it would be on International sized rinks, I don't know if Getzlaf is necessarily a lock. I would especially be surprised if Lucic made team Canada... I just don't think his playstyle tranfers well to the bigger rinks.

Most of these line-ups are to young for the Olympics. Canada will take some young guys, but they wont fill a roaster full of them. Guys like Hall, Benn, Skinner, Eberle, Kane just wont make it.
