Looks like Erne takes one of those X spots (he can play either wing). Martel could very well take the other.

At the AHL level, this kid is a pepper pot. He is a gnat-sized pest who can score, irritate the heck out of his opponents, and will take nothing from nobody. His heart is way larger than his size. He is the kind of player you love to hate on the opposition but can easily fall in love with on your team. He is another of those couple of inches taller and twenty or so pounds heavier would be a full time NHLer that the Tampa Bay organization loves to bring in and have blossom. His overall play makes a fourth liner like Paquette nervous as what Martel lacks in size he has more than made up for with his scoring ability at the AHL level. Overall, TWO THUMBS UP for this one.

Full faith in GMJB finding untapped talent in players. I am not sold on erne or paquette for that matter (injured every other week). This guy should fit right in on the way we like to play when we are at our best, full force forecheck energy aka gourde.

I believe his size has something to do with it. The Flyers are not as "big" on the smaller, skilled players as Tampa Bay is, hence the change in organizations might just be the ticket he needs to the NHL.
