Wow bit of an over pay there maybe a 3rd or 4th we shouldn’t negotiate from weakness as we really don’t NEED the upgrade if they don’t like it we will find someone else...but that’s a kings ransom for a guy who like our core hasn’t accomplished anything yet

Not much to go by there. He has 12 points in 14 games. He might unfortunately be almost as well known for something else though...(*draft lottery*). Nevertheless, teams will still be interested in adding him if he's on the trade market.

That is an understatement. Not to mention that it guts our center depth for a top 6 LW we don't really need.

We can find a cheaper rental or longer term option to put there if we don't like Thornton and Hyman. I bet the Leafs try out Galchenyuk first.

I was just saying if there was a choice one one for one and had Hall for 5 years , it would be him I would choose same cost as well by the way

If you look at the steaming pile of garbage the Coyotes gave up to get Hall last year, that's what I would pay to get him at 50% retained, though aside from name branding, I'm not sure he's really the big fish investment. He's kind of a high skill rush player with so so IQ and one massive year and undeserved MVP.
