You have no clue. We could easily get a top prospect back if a pick isn’t also included or if we add a prospect going the other way.

What’s your definition of a “top prospect?” You honestly think a team like Colorado is going to send us Byram for only a guaranteed few months of Hall?

I’d love for a team to be desperate and short-sighted enough to send a true blue chip, but you’re setting yourself up for disappointment if that’s your expectation. History doesn’t support your ask.

Hall isn't crap. He's a former 1st overall and recent Hart trophy winner. We're not trading him for a 2nd rounder and a C prospect.

A) where Hall was drafted 10 years ago has literally ZERO bearing on where he will be traded
B) No one said 2nd rounder and C prospect, but nice hyperbole. I've laid out multiple times what I believe Hall will be dealt for based on previous deadline deals

Carlo is arguably Boston's 2nd most valuable DMan and he just turned 23 years old. They aren't dealing him for a rental.

I never said anything about Bryam. Ty Smith is a top prospect. I’m talking about that level player. A top ~40 prospect.

The next shoe that needs to drop. Get this done so we can move on.
I'm not in a rush at the moment given he hasn't lit up the score board. If he catches fire, I think a team with hopes of a playoff run would be much more interested.

The argument that no one will want Hall for reasonable value is ridiculous. And if his draft position means nothing, the fact that he was league MVP last time he played a full season will factor.

That was two years and a knee surgery ago. He is a good rental. He isn’t going to bring back an insane return.

He's a PPG player, and teams will get a chance to talk to his agent before the trade. If Shero can only manage Elmur Fud and a 3rd rounder he needs to be fired.

so you think a 1st, roster player, and prospect (and conditional picks if he re-signs) is not "reasonable value"?

How many Harts has he won again?

ah right I forgot you had to win Hart trophies to be considered a good, young player.

Look if you want to continue believing we are going to get a player as good as Brandon Carlo back for Hall, be my guest. But be prepared to be severely let down when he is finally traded.

Yeah the Bruins aren’t robbing Peter to pay Paul and giving up a contributing roster player for a rental. You’d probably have better luck arguing for Vaakaninen however you spell it cause he’s not an everyday NHL’er yet.

And if you'll be happy not having a competitive team for another five years, be my guest. I don't claim to know what Hall is worth. But I'm not going to be satisfied with becoming the Oilers or Senators.

Hall isn't garbage. His shooting percentage is also historically low right now. A signed Hall is worth a lot to a contender, and he claims to want to be on a contender, so why wouldn't he sign?Shero is supposed to be a great trader. If he can't get more than picks and B prospects for Hall send his ass home.

Mark Stone brought back one of the top D prospects anywhere without taking a cap dump back. If we give Boston Hall and take Backes, we're giving them a golden opportunity to sign Hall long term.

A 1st, a young roster/prospect top4 D, a young roster/prospect middle 6 forward, and a conditional pick shouldn’t be that outrageous for Hall especially if the Devils retain cap and/or take back a contract. We’re not getting potential superstar talent back but we can still expect quality.

Retained Vatanen is worth a first all by himself. Really glad you guys aren't the GM or we'd be giving everything away.
That’s two guys with expiring contracts nearing 30 with injury issues for a 23 year old a year away from being a restricted free agent.

Vatanen shouldn't be traded unless he won't re-sign.

Hall just turned 28. By that logic Carlo only has about 5 more good years in him!

If Boston thinks they can't convince Hall to resign there, that's kind of a loser mentality, don't you think? Hall has said he wants to win - does Sweeney not think his team can keep winning? Point is he isn't a pure rental to a contender, because he isn't just looking for big bucks.

And yes, Carlo is coming up on RFA. Do you think he might be looking for a big raise?

His draft position has absolutely nothing to do with it - in fact, it sounds to me like you're putting a whole lot of stock into his draft position. What does him being a diamond in the rough have to do with his long term potential?

Check your PM.

This is not the thread to talk about Non-Hall related stuff.
