The Pittsburgh Penguins have signed defenseman Taylor Chorney to a one-year contract, it was announced today by executive vice president and general manager Jim Rutherford.

Chorney’s contract is a two-way deal worth $550,000 at the NHL level.

You make a valid point, however as I am in a Vitale and Virtuous mourning period, everything I say that might bring bad luck, doesn't count. Because my soul has been ground to a stump, hollowed out, and filled with negatively charged ectoplasm.

This guy will be pretty low on the depth chart but he'll be a nice veteran presence for the young guys in the AHL and insurance if half the NHL D get injured at the same time.
