If Tavares has any intention of playing playoff hockey regularly he wont sign with the Islanders. Vegas, Blues, Sharks, Avs etc make much more sense.

It all depends on Vegas' plan. They have a team and a system that can compete on a budget and they don't have much wasted cap on star players so they can compete for a while, but if they want to go all in then they can blow all their cap on stars and just try to dominate for 2-3 years, but it will fall apart sooner rather than later. If I were a star UFA, Vegas would be my first stop, it just has the potential for the most longevity and they can afford the paycheck, the only question is will they offer it or pay? It would be smarter not to.
