The thing is players like McDonough take a crap with their style of play really quick. He’d probably be good for 2-3 years and then the fall comes.
That’s the thing. First, McD has a shelf life of good/excellent that, after this year might be another 2 years. Maybe just 1. Second, we won’t be good enough within that period where he makes the desired difference that’s worth Borg. Third, we would have used him as an alternate #1, or at least in a more critical role than Tampa, which he’s not. He didn’t do that well last playoffs when expected to be a defensive difference maker.

So overall, I’m not crushed that we didn’t get him. Good for Tampa, good for him, they have a great shot this year at the cup, but timing here would have been off.

Now the timing is right for a 27-yo D-stud, an almost 30 G-wonder, and a 60-yo Coach....

Brow. County, Fl.
The uptempo stuff sucks. The reason why the play so bad is because they try to rush everything, and don't have a scheme outside of "uptempo". Add to fact that they're playing a really good regular season team, who plays their best when playing fast. This was a problem game from the beginning.
