Back in 0304 Tampa Bay was one of the worst teams in the HFNHL history and finished 2nd last with only 34 points. This year everything is different here in Tampa,
after 74 games the team has 67 points which is an increase with 32 points. This also means that Tampa will get 3.5M$ for that improvement, money that will be spent during the offseason according to rumours here in Florida.

In the last four games Tampa has won 3 and tied one and is currently only two points away from the playoff. Who could have thought that for a few weeks ago?

GM Martin Sedin said on a pressconference last night that he is very satisfied with the 32 points improvement but thats not the end. We are still trying to reach the playoffs where I believe we belong.

5-0 was the last victory at home against Atlanta Thrasers. Sedin was of course very happy with the result but the crowd was another matter. "Here we are trying to reach the playoffs and then just 10.000 shows up" "Dont they care about hockey anymore here in Florida" "If the crowd doesnt increase we might be forced to move the team elsewhere, we cant get the money to sign big names if the crowd doesnt support us"

Mario Lemieux who is expected to retire after the season has been Tampas leading player this year. 2 goals and 1 assist was his result in the Atlanta game. The entire 1st line with Bure and Sedin on the wings was great, Bure had two assist and Sedin was 1+2. It looks like Tampa has found the first line they have been looking for ever since Recchi/Oates left the team a few years ago.

Martin continues to mention that Curtis Joseph has been great since he was traded for. Cujo has been the starter we have been looking for in the past five seasons. With Cujo in goal our future looks bright, and dont forget that our prospect Brent Krahn has done an amazing season the minors so far.
