Dressel has been the big star at this Olympics.
I wonder if he’ll try to best the Phelps record of 8 Gold Medals in one Olympics. I can’t imagine he won’t take a run at it. He nearly had a possibility for 8 at this Olympics.
There are 10 events for Paris that I think are possibilities. The 6 he swam at this Olympics, 200 Free, 200 IM, 4x200 relay, and 200 Fly. He nearly swam the 200 Free at this Olympics, but scratched it after heats at trials. And if that one becomes successful for 2024, you can add the relay, but I’m not sure that’s a Gold Medal possibility. USA didn’t even medal in that event this year. Maybe though three years makes a difference there for the American team. He’s so great in the 100 Fly. Milak is great in the 200 Fly though. Maybe he can beat him at 150. 200 seems a little unlikely, but it’s close enough that he could try. He already is the best in the world for two legs of the 200 IM, but he’s rarely swam IM events and would probably need to put in significant work on the other two legs.
