Still firmly at an F. lol

I just still don't know what his plan was going into the draft/FA.

In order of importance he should have filled

#2 C

Solid top 4 LD

Bottom 6

Goalie (I still liked the idea of going Vladar/Swayman this season. To keep the window of this club open this would be the type of gamble you make while using the extra salary to boost the rest of the roster)

Instead he pretty much did it in reverse and still hasn't solved the first two problems.

Management acknowledged the need for a top pairing LD in the season ending press conference and then they went out and got…Derek Forbort? I don’t know they can spin this offseason as a positive. They didn’t even accomplish what they set out to do before free agency started!

Agreed. I'd have rather rolled the dice in net with this team than what they did as well. I also can't get past them signing 4th liners at the expense of actual holes on the roster in key spots. Just criminal how unwise these moves are.

We all know deep down inside come playoff the call up will be ??? I'll give you a guy a hint. His name starts with a K and end with a K.

I have no inside knowledge, but my guess is the goal is to just make the playoffs so Sweeney and Neely can keep their jobs. Harry Sinden was the GM for 29 years and he never won a Cup while GM. He was able to keep his job because he consistently gave Jacobs playoff revenue (26/29 years).

The scary thing is due to their horrid drafting, this puts us at risk of signing the next Backes and Beleskey in order to “remain competitive” and squeak into the playoffs, when the team should be rebuilding, just to get revenue from 2-4 home playoff games when the team loses in the 1st or 2nd round.

So any potential 2022 UFA’s on upcoming non-playoff teams may be available at the deadline. I’m going to take a peak at UFA-to-be centers

Hertl & Zibanejad only realistic options. I’d prefer younger options.

Changed my score due to Krejci leaving, the moves he did make aren’t lateral moves per se, I believe the team is better than they were before, but when you take Krejci out the team overall is arguably lateral, so for the fact sweeney didnt prepare well enough for Krejci to be gone id say he made minor improvements to the team that may end up not mattering all that much if Coyle et al can’t make the second line a scoring threat

Personally though, I like Hall Coyle Smith more than Debrusk Krejci Kuhlman/Ritchie or whatever other revolving f***ing door that is

obviously the ideal was hall Krejci smith but I can really only concern myself with how the line looks at the start of each season.

Coyle has the talent for 20 goals 30 assists. As long as he plays to his potential and helps create space, that line will be a threat. It’s really how improved the 3rd and 4th lines end up being that will determine how potent line 2 can be. Sort of a trickle up effect. If those lines are easy to contain teams can just front load defense on coyle’s line and then hope the perfection line is held to 2 or less goals. easy strategy and way to beat the bruins. If our bottom 6 becomes energy inducing and hard to hem in, suddenly the top 6 is very difficult

On next season; I’d go after hertle, couture and Barkov. doesn’t matter if they’ll be hard to pry out of their city, you still make a run. I’d go after barkov hard if I was sweeney. Barkov immediately reopens the window quite wide for this team

Jacobs will make sure they acquire Victor Rask so he can repurpose all the unsold jerseys in the pro shop.

yes in a perfect world but we went over why that deal wasn’t happening. I say pay Florida back for whatever back room deal they pulled and poach Barkov next summer
So long as they know Barkov is a Finn.. otherwise they will think he is a Russian and we'll, we they don't likes Russian in Bahstun.
