Not the best show I've seen, but it's decent and I've been watching. Brian Cox is great of course.

Yeah I don't know if fantastic is the word I'd use. It's enjoyable and there's not much else worth watching this summer.

I just watched the whole season and really enjoyed it. While it can walk up to the line of absurdity, I think it does a good job of explaining every characters motivations and the tension between the family. Kerian Culkian is hilarious.

No one is watching this huh? I really enjoy it. Good start to the season last night. Kendall is just completely neutered. I wonder how he comes back from this.

The nephew and son in law are kind of funny, but yeah the story a little over the top and the dialogue isn't nearly as clever or witty as it thinks it is. And I don't really care for Jeremy Strong.

First episode of season 2 was alright. I don't believe for a second that Logan is serious about his offer to Shiv, he's manipulating her into coming back into the fold instead of working against him.

I wonder if Logan told Roman the same thing. It's better to keep everyone happy and in line while he's dealing with the threat of the takeover.

Yeah I remember seeing the commercials for it when I was rewatching Veep to show it to my brother for the first time.

Brought me back to what an over dramatic "not as smart as it thinks it is" show the first season was. Not feeling very enticed to go back to it.

That last episode was.. something, Kieran Culkin I am looking at you.

This show is my guilty pleasure. Pretty weak storyline (they are struggling to pivot from the...succession... part of it) and the dialogue is so often lacking. Highly stylized like a David Fincher film but it just kind of feels like ultra wealthy lifestyle porn with all of the private helicopters, rolling estates, New York penthouses, etc. But I keep coming back week after week.

I think the storyline is better than what you give it credit for. Who succeeds Logan hangs over everyone, so I wasn't expecting it to go away anytime soon.

Thought the latest episode was really good. While I wouldn't put the show up their with the all time great shows, I think it's very good. I think Billions is a better example of the lifestyle porn you're speaking about. I like that show as well, but I don't think it's as good.

To me, every episode feels like a standalone that doesn't contribute much to the succession plot, are we any closer to a successor being named than we were episode 1? Like every episode they drop the characters into a business or personal/family situation, things happen, the kids generally makes asses out of themselves, it resolves with little long term consequence to any character or the overall story and onto next week.

It's entertaining, but like you said, I don't think it's great television either.

Eh, I just think it's a slow burn. Obviously, Kendall's issues have had a serious effect on his standing. Shiv's power move this week was obviously influenced by her frustration with Logan dragging his feet after telling her it'd be her.

I think the intrigue comes from what is real and what isn't. Does Logan actually want Shiv or is he just using that to get her to do his bidding? Is Kendall actually out or is that just part of the effort to use Shiv? Obviously Logan isn't above using and manipulating his family.

I guess I think they run the risk where they get to the point where it just feels like episode is the same, and it's just shuffling the deck chairs, but I'm personally not there yet.

I thought last weeks episode was the best of the season so far.

"Keep clean this weekend, eh killer." was such a savage line by Logan to Kendall.

I watched the first few episodes of season 1 of Succession thinking, i like this show but i dont (mostly because every character is a terrible person). But then it clicked and i love the show(mostly that Greg and Tom are the stars of the show). The finale episode of season 2 was great.

The season 2 finale was amazing. Season 2 overall was great.

Ken being set up to be either the fall guy, or the one to kill Logan, was great. Neither Roman or Shiv were willing to kill anyone they love to get the top job, but Ken was. Greg with the big assist there.

Did you think this is what Logan ultimately wanted? I felt that way. By telling him he wasn't a killer, I thought he was hoping to get Ken to make this move.

Great finale, really good season.

Great finale, really good season.
I think Logan knew he had to take responsibility as the shareholders were demanding it, but there was no way he was going to resign. He wanted one of his kids to take over, but they needed to be a "killer" and take it from him, he was never going to hand it over. Ken has always been the most competent of his kids and the one he wanted to step up, but he had never proven to be capable of taking the company from him, bungled coup included. All season he has been trying to build that up in Ken, with the gutting of the digital media platform they acquired and all the close work on the bearhug, and in the finale put Ken to the test. Either Ken was going to accept responsibility and be the fall guy, or he would kill Logan and take over. Either way Logan gets something he wants, and I don't think he knew which one would happen, but seemed pleased enough at the end that Ken was going to take over.

I couldn't tell if the killer speech somehow tied to last seasons finale (like you aren't a killer because I paid everyone off so you are gonna take this one for the team), but what you all are saying makes sense. Ken easily has the most killer instincts of the kids, so maybe it was a bit of a nut tap to do it.

Am I crazy, or is Ken actor's acting lacking a little, especially compared to the rest of the cast?

Meanwhile, Stewie's acting (Ken's friend turned nemesis) I cannot get enough of.

I've heard this from a few people, but I don't think so personally. I think he's been through the gauntlet and broken at times and it shows. I enjoy his performance.
