It’s easy to notice that Los Angeles Kings rookie left wing Austin Wagner is really, really fast, one of the fastest skaters in the National Hockey League. That alone makes him an offensive threat, even though he doesn't have the hands of an elite scorer.

There is a ton of hope and expectations among fans for Wagner, merely because he is so fast. But what's the reality about him? What are his strengths? What are the weaknesses in his game that he is working on or still needs to work on?

With his skating, combative streak and continued improvement Wagner could be 1/3 of an effective energy line.

I maintain he could top out as a Chris Kreider type with his speed and mean streak.

Not sure how I feel about Craig Johnson trying to help him develop.
