HOWEVER-Primeau held the canes hostage by sitting out nearly a year until we traded him to philly for Brind'amore (BTW we won that trade) Maybe as he got older he saw the light in Philly
Interesting, it seems that all these guys as they get older and more mature, they get wiser, and are not afraid of the big bad wolf aka Knob Goodenow...

I've been spending over $20,000 a year on my credit card and I have no over-spending or financial troubles. I don't pay a dime in interest and I've made plenty of money by using it.

You're my hero. Maybe you can give everyone lessons on how that works and how it applies to business as well. Hey, maybe start with Rod Bryden. Get back to us when you're done and give us a full report!

Me lie? I'm not the one with a vested interest in how this turns out. Can you honestly claim you have no financial interest in the outcome?

As seems to be the case with most virulent PA supporters, Jobu is yet another aspiring lawyer/agent:

"Why he came to XXXXXXX XXXXX

Adam chose to article with XXXXXXX XXXXX because he was drawn to the firm's vibrant corporate area and its background in working with major sports teams.

What he did last summer

As a summer student with XXXXXXX XXXXX in 2003, Adam worked mainly in the corporate law field. During the summer he assisted lawyers with the purchase of the Ottawa Senators Hockey Club.

What he hopes to gain from his articles

Adam has educational and practical experience in business and professional sports, which suits him well for a legal career in these fields."

Same old chicken / egg argument. Are those teams good because they're expensive or expensive because they're good? I vote for expensive because they're good. I find it odd that you go back to the early 90's, before the current CBA and before any of the problems started to happen.

Pittsburgh and Montreal were high in payroll because they were good teams with some of the best players in the league (i.e. Lemieux, Roy). They didn't buy their teams, they drafted and traded. Like any good team should do.

Same can be said about just about every team on your list of winners. Crap teams like the current Penguins should not have a 1 in 30 chance of winning every year.

You're missing the point. In order to win the Cup, you had to be in the top10 budgetwise. No matter how great Oilers had been, could they have affored to have a top10 budget?? No way. That's why they had to trade away their best players when they were just on the brink of being great. And if they had been great, they still wouldn't have the money to keep them.

So your chicken / egg argument doesn't hold water.

Btw, Pittaburgh & Montreal won their cups before the salaries began to escalate out of control.
