 Oh my.

Rypien usually went punch-block-punch-block, so at least he wasn't just waiting for a hit. Stortini went into the defensive position for a while and you could almost see Barch's thought process. "Well, he's blocking the left side of his face, so...I'll just nail him in his right cheek." *BLAM*

Yeah that was probably the worst fight i have ever seen, Stortini just needs to stop. The Vandermeer-Barch fight would of been a gooder had the linesmen not jumped in so early.

I'm no doctor but we've all seen Stortini fight before and he knows how to throw a punch.

Look at the way he almost throws them, then stops.

I bet his hand is broken or something.

sigh, wish huggiebear knew how to throw punches properly. has this weird throwing motion - need to go straight in with the fist. so embarrassing. Before this Vandermeer I thought won the fight against Barch atleast.

Problem with Stortini is he is a solid player and fantastic agitator, but if he was as gutless as like Cooke or Ott and only fought guys smaller than him he would be more effective, I admire how he will not refuse to fight anyone. too bad he sucks at fighting.

Ya, that looked pretty bad.

I think something is up with Zach. It looks like he tried for the takedown right off the hop, and then fought such a defensive fight. He must have some sort of injury or something...

Stortini was an embarassment but so was Barch. I think you should have a certain level of respect for your opponent. Especially one that you've had some great fights with in the past.

...and it's not like you saw Souray mocking Barch after he did his best Raggedy Ann impression last season...or Vandermeer mocking him after he beat him last night.

Lets also not forget the Oilers 4th line had taken back to back icings and Stortini was at the end of his first shift since the icings. He was dead tired.

For the record, I'm not being a homer here. Go on the Oilers board and read any Stortini related thread. I can't stand him. I just find it hilarious that Barch of all people is going to mock him. This is a guy that has provided Stortini with some of his most entertaining fights. Why? Because he sucks so much as a fighter that he needs to catch Stortini at the end of a shift to dominate him. Boogaard or Colton Orr laughing at Stortini is fine because these guys are two of the best out there. Barch? He's only one step above Stortini. According to the voters on hockeyfights.com Barch is 10-30-10 over the last 3 seasons and he hasn't beat anyone worth talking about as far as I can see. You get a win against Zack Stortini and now you're mocking people?

Rypien usually just threw his arm in the way of oncoming punches

starts around 1:35

watch after 1:30 how Barch talks then puts his head down

Are you sure that was mockery? Players put their heads down after fights all the time, and that one didn't seem different than any other... he certainly didn't put his head in his hands and whimper like what I was looking for there.

The best part of that clip is that the fight music is the training music from Punch Out.

So awesome.

Rypien didn't invent blocking punches.

It was the end of his shift, Stortini was just gassed and had to resort to defending himself rather than throwing them.

I'm with you. I didn't see it either.

And I agree with those saying Stortini looks like he has a busted hand. He wasn't throwing hard punches at all, and Barch was leaving himself wide open to eat one throughout most of the fight.

stortini needs to quit fighting so much. even his coach says he gets busted up to much and he really is a valuable 4th liner. I give up props for fighting anyone he is a tough sob. just can't fight worth beams

it was at the end of a long ass shift for him. i was surprised he was willing to fight. He just had a long shift after the team had taken an icing before that. I dont see what stortini did that was considered turtling though.

Stortini's had an awful year in all facets of the game really. I'm not sure if he has an injury or not but it's getting painful to watch. As for Barch's mockery; congratulations you won a fight against Zack Stortini. He's not even a top 5 fighter on the Oilers.

The actual mocking is not in this clip, takes place when they are fully separated.

This is true. Barch lost to Vandermeer and Strudwick. He wouldn't fight MacIntyre and would probably lose to Peckham.

1. MacIntyre
2. Vandermeer
3. Peckham
4. Strudwick
5. Stortini

He also got rag dolled by Souray last season.

His right hand is loose at the end and its the only time he threw a punch with that hand, if you even want to call those punches. So when did he break it?
