Schenn got about a 1.4M raise. We have plenty of room for Petro. Maybe you buy Steen or Allen out to make it work.

The UFA C market is shaping up to be trash. Backstrom is going to end up re-signing in Washington, in all likelihood. Schenn would have been the best available. He was looking at Kevin Hayes+ money. The Blues gave him max term to keep the cap hit down. It's something you have to do when you're trying to win it all.

He might get a bridge, I wouldn't say he's at a point where he gets big money. Bouwmeester will be out, and then you have Bozak, Steen, Allen that can be traded or bought out. It won't be too difficult to fit Petro in.

We’re using term to lower the AAV. It’s a calculated risk. The window is obviously the next four years or so.

Jaybo is not coming back, that will take care of Dunn,. Need to dump Allen and buyout Steen I guess, no idea how Armstrong will manage it all

8 years is tough to swallow on almost any player. That being said, it's likely a good deal at least for the front half of the deal.

So as long as we are not looking out 5+ years, it's a very nice contract. Check in during 2024.
