The media is intense, no doubt but fan driven? How so? If it's the fan's fault, how do you suppose to "fix" it?
Players likely take into account many, many factors before deciding where to play(money, family, climate, chance of winning, etc), if they are lucky enough to have a choice. Some players actually like extra attention and consider that to be "better" than "worse".

Because the media just parrots the mood of the fans. The fans were mad and wanted a refbuild. The media starting fights with players.

Fans super excited about team. All is roses. Fans turn on the team, now it’s the disappearing act of Matthews. Fans control the content. How is this news????

They should just get Joe Bowen to write every article on the Leafs.

No.
It might be better than whatever Simmons and Feschuk tend to put out.

There room for criticism, but I don't want us to be Boston where we sewer everyone on the way out. Which is what they did on Kessel.

not really. no one put a gun to the head to get the 'hotdog' article written.

no one put a gun to kypreos head to write about an imaginary am babs rift, and after a record season. so it's not all roses, the few famous media personalities are seeking out blood when they can find it.

siegel and the athletic writers are 100x better as are the pension puppet writers.

simmons is just not accountable for his actions, and will always have someone else to blame.
