To Penguins prospects come to mind for me:

Michel Oullete #124 2000
Ben Eaves #131 2001

Couple who play/played a bit in the NHL and I think are turning out to be steals:
Ryan Malone #115 1999
Tom Kostopolous #204 1999
Tomas Surovy 129 2001

Sadly, Kostopolous left UFA.

No Andrew Alberts or Jordan Sigalet either?

All from the same draft, which, if they turn out to be as good as some feel they can. could be one of the greatest B's drafts in history.

absolutely my good friend...it was late and i had a few in me :joker:

yeah i don't see how umberger is a steal when he was drafted in the 1st round...plus he then sat out for a year without playing any real competative hockey, and is in his third organization at this point mainly because of attitude and heart problems...

There are no 1st round steals, IMO. How can they be a steal seriously. In the 1999 draft, and yes I read the criteria, the ONLY 1st round steal, and one of the few first rounders I'd ever call a steal, was Havlat.

Biggest Steals:

Lundqvist
Jokinen
Polushin
Hagos
Platil
Eaves
Grigorenko

I wouldn't call Giroux a steal. He will be an NHLer. But only as a 4th liner.

His numbers with the Wolfpack don't impress me much and neither did his play when I watched him, just nothing special.
