Rather then just speculating on steals from 2003 and 2004
Why not look at actual players who have developed nicely and who are knocking on the NHL's door.

Not looking for superstars here, just players who are following a good development path and have a good chance of being regular NHLers

Criteria:

0 nhl games played

Lets look at:
1999 all rounds
2000 all rounds
2001 all rounds

As for the Canucks...some of us still hope Kankaanpera would do something in the future...He's still on the radar..

2001
Alexander Polushin- 47th overall- love this guy
Igor Grigorenko- 62nd overall(but only if he returns to pre-care crash form)
Yared Hagos- 70th overall- Has 3rd line center written all over him
Ben Eaves- 131st overall
Jussi Jokinen- 192nd overall- tearing it up in Finland, top 6 winger in the future

possibly the two biggest steals in their respective drafts.

I wouldnt go that far- just on my list I would say Lundqvist(2000) and Jokinen(2001) are bigger steals. And thats not including players who have seen NHL action. But thats just me :)

wow, I guess you people can't read that the criteria is 0 NHL games played.

Stefan Liv in the 3rd round is a nice pick.

and

Igor Grigorenko in the 2nd round BEFORE his accident. I still think he'll bounce back personally.
