Exactly.....lots of great junior players turn out to the next Pavel Brendl.

I point this out only FYI.

Yes, I know it's only the SEL and not the NHL.

Brendl has failed in enough opportunites that he is a bust.

If he ever makes it back to the NHL and plays well, it qualifies as a hockey version of a resurrection. If he does, he wouldn't be the first player to resurrect their career in the SEL or another European league.

Brendl's Offensive game was never in question..it was his attrocious defence... if he makes it back to the NHL he either needs to do the job defensively..or play for a coach that will let him do what he wants and tell the rest of the team to play D like theyre killing a penalty lol (which just may work ;))

I also heard is conditioning was sub-par. If he's turned that corner, there might be hope, especially with all the power plays in the NHL.

The only reason I pointed this out is that I've been following Backstrom very closely and I noticed Brendl's phenomenal start. It kind of surprised me and I thought others might like to know about it. :)

6th Round - Shirokov, Simek

Those two could be anchoring Canucks offense in the near future.

Does Valentenko belongs there? He was a late pick (5th), yet seemed a lock for the WJC at 18 YO...

He's 19 and until he comes over I couldn't call him anything. Alex Biega sure looks like a steal what a season he's having with Havard.

Hummm... in terms of "junior eligibility", is he considered a 18 or a 19 YO?

How can any player be picked as a steal? I would you will need to wait 3 years.

I agree, there is no way you can tell if these guys are steals are not considering they havent even played a NHL game yet. Why dont you spend time talking about previous drafts, where you can base your opinions and facts on revelance.

Toews going third overall. Best player in last year's draft by far.

I'll do the first 4 rounds or do.

Please note that if a player is selected in the top 10 then I dont think they are a steal.

In Round 1 I thought there were two steals - Micheal Grabner, Semen Varlamov

Round 2 - Ben Maxwell, Nikolai Kulemin

Round 3 - Brad Marchand

Round 4 - Mike Forney ( He's loaded with raw skill )

round 1: Patrick Berglund---in long run may be one of the top 10 picks of this draft

round 2: Jesse Joensuu---will be a steal for the isles if he can put it all together

round 3: Ryan White---showing lots of offence for a grinder type player

round 4: Ben Wright---could be a top 6 dman for Columbus

round 5: Alex Biega---strong freshman year in Harvard

round 6: Jan Murzak---offensive leader on a strong Saginaw team

round 7: Erik Condra---maybe with a bit of the luck o' the green

How about some love for Oskar Osala:dunno:

The guy was a fourth rounder and he's tied for first in goal scored and for third in total points in the WJC
