Brodeur and Robitaille are just baffling with Robitaille even more so. They are not horrible, but there are clear better choices available. The rest is without criticism. I'm actually surprised they thought of Harvey.

Robitaille? LMAOOOO. Htf can anyone screw up an all time NHL starting 6, especially when it's based on position?

Hull--Gretzky--Howe

Orr--Bourque/Harvey

Hasek/Roy

So simple.

All Time Top Six

Bobby Hull/Wayne Gretzky/Gordie Howe

Nick Lidstrom/Bobby Orr

Terry Sawchuk

The other team never even touches the puck.

Robitaille does have the Stats to be the LW choice. But still noyt sure.
Brodeur has the wins, but I take Roy and Hasek over him anyday.

Here's mine;

Ovechkin-Gretzky-Howe
Orr-Lidstrom
Hasek

2nd team would be;

Hull-Lemieux-Richard
Coffey-Harvey
Brodeur

I know that Ovi shouldn't be there now but once his career is over he should be statitsically the best LW in NHL history.

In his final 4 years, John Vanbiesbrouck before the team Brodeur played behind:
GP W L T MIN GA SO GAA SV%
1999–00 Philadelphia Flyers NHL 50 25 15 9 2950 108 3 2.20 .906
2000–01 New York Islanders NHL 44 10 25 5 2390 120 1 3.01 .898

Old aged John Vanbiesbrouck behind the team Brodeur basically had all to himself:
2000–01 New Jersey Devils NHL 4 4 0 0 240 6 1 1.50 .935
2001–02 New Jersey Devils NHL 5 2 3 0 300 10 0 2.00 .915

Anyone who didn't ever see those games that cares about the history of goaltending should find a way to watch the games he played in jersey, he looked better than ever. Then he retired lol.

Is this a criticism of Brodeur? I mean, it's only 9 games.

No, my stance is Brodeur or Beezer had little to do with it.

Imagine with me for a second:

You have the puck and youre making millions of dollars with the responsibility within your job that says you have to try to get that puck to the other team's net.

Now you look up and not only are you dealing with one of their defensive robot forwards taking care of business, you're looking at not only having to skate toward
this guy
ken-daneyko_display_image.jpg
or this guy

.

but you're also looking at them skating at you. They surrounded and punished. I had the pleasure of having my rivals on local television and saw most games Brodeur played. I'd cheer for whoever was playing them, and then the many games we couldn't get near Brodeur who just took the shutout and game star LOL Meanwhile Richter on the other end was dealing with whatever the hell I could call what I saw when Leetch wasn't on the ice....

This would be an absolute slaughter to try and defend against.

I can't help putting in Hainsworth. 22 shutouts in 44 games...lol. 0.92 GAA. Don't know if these records will ever get touched.

This is even worse than the original one. Geez

Absolutely is not. Robitaille is completely unjustifiable over Hull. You honestly think that's worse lineup than what the article has? Honestly?

For the OP, Brodeur over Hasek, Roy or even Plante is hard to justify. Makes the lineup controversial for no purpose. Robitaille over Hull, Ovechkin or Lindsay is not hard to justify, it renders the lineup useless. It's not controversial. It's just plain dumb. To be taken seriously one would assume the author has even basic grasp of the history of the game. Bobby Hull is top-10 player all-time and the best LW in hockey history. Picking Robitaille over him can not be justified by any logic. It's like taking Brett Hull over Gordie Howe or Mats Sundin over Wayne Gretzky.
