Just a reminder ... Texas' forward depth prior to this signing. They had 9 forwards ....

Morin-Dickinson-Guiranov
Elie-Dowling-McNeill
Smith-Hintz-Ully

They've made a depth free agent signing of Sheldon Dries out of Western Michigan.

Hintz could play LW in place of Morin, but at this point, it makes more sense for Dallas to try and develop both Dickinson and Hintz at center.

Could they be looking at forwards at development camp as well? Might explain why we have so many invites.

Very likely. I was pleasantly surprised to see no obligatory players from Dallas. They only seem to be looking at prospects for once, and they have several nice ones to consider.

It's possible, but the two-way deal is telling. Let's say this, virtually no chance they keep both Flynn and Cracknell IMO. One would go on waivers.

Flynn got some love from Johnathan Willis on the pre free agency PDOcast. I don't know why we signed both him and Pitlick considering everyone assumes they would have added a RW like Hemsky if they missed out on Radulov. Why add short term specialist PKers when you can call up Elie or Dickinson and teach them to do it properly?

Yeah. I'd prefer we signed only one, if any, or at the very least provide some flexibility in the organization so we can send one down to play in CP, but it seems now we have to keep both rostered at the NHL level regardless who has the better camp / season.
