Willy's meeting is in NY now, the day of our first game? How rude to Tom. It's a presumption of guilt, as if to suggest they are only in a long debate over the length.

f*** the NHL, what the hell have they been doing since the hit, that they couldn't have given him (and our GM who is forced to have his roster be in limbo) a timely trial?

I hope Tom is allowed to walk on the red carpet (I doubt it) and gets the 2nd loudest cheers.

I think they are teaching him a lesson by making him miss THIS day with his teammates. I really hope this time the punishment sticks in Wilson's brain.

When's the banner lowering ceremony?

  • 1 banner listing all Division Championships (not 1 per division)
  • 1 banner listing all Presidents' Trophies (how it is now)
  • 1 smaller banner per Eastern Conference Championship (unclear what they will do tonight for this)
  • 1 banner for the god damn Stanley Cup

a bit like this, I suppose (division banner should list Patrick/Southeast/Metro division name per year instead of team name, and an additional Presidents' Trophy banner):

Since the Wizards are moving their practice facility to SE, what's the chance they revert back to their old name the Bullets?

It seems a bit petty, and may hurt the fans that want to see him, and our GM more than it likely does him. He will hop on a plane and be back in the area once they make him watch the slow motion replay for 3 hours, so I am not sure the message is getting through. Its more like the waiting that grinds on the nerves.

I am not convinced slow motion helps in these matters. You have to see what Willy saw, to rationalize what Willy did. Slowing things down just makes things more graphic, as you get to see something that took .5 seconds, shown for 1 minute. It burns the image into your head. If Parrostache has to slow things down to the Xth degree to make a decision, maybe he shouldn't bother.

I agree it's petty but I get why the league would do it.

If reports are correct MacClellen went with Wilson and they took the train.

I am curious if Wilson will walk the red carpet tonight.

Man, shit, don't think I can go tonight. I'm launching a new team at work in two weeks and have been insanely busy - not even sure if I'll catch the game tonight. :puppy::shakehead

Oh well - we won the Cup and I had a blast seeing those festivities in person. If I can't make the banner ceremony then so be it.

You have the rest of your life to work and launch new teams. This is the ONLY time you will get to see the Caps raise their first Stanley Cup banner. Watch the damn game.

Also, do you need anyone for that team?

Drinking team? I like beer. Do you like beer?

Back on topic, at 5:02 the esteemed erstwhile goon Randy Holt is escorted from the Bar Louie premises after ringing up a $67 tab in just 1:47 of TIBL (Time in Bar Louie) over a disagreement related to a lack of other intoxicating items.

As he is leaving, he is heard yelling out at random bar patrons, are you @StrikingDistance?

Who reply back at him, "Movie was ok, but you are f***ing crazy"

Walker with a shot. Hoping Bowey finds another gear and surprises the heck out of me. Let the Pre-Playoff fine tuning begin.
Most of you guys are so hard on Bowey but Djoos seems to get a free pass when he makes a mistake. I still think Bowey has more upside than Djoos.

D men often take a while to develop. Imo too early to tell for either guy.

Djoos is here and now.
He is SC winner.
He could be on another team next training camp.
So what should we worry about now?

Djoos is established bottom-4 D with warts. He is who he is.
Nobody gonna mistake him with any other guy :)

Yeah, I'll watch. I was just hoping I'd be able to snag a last minute ticket and catch it in person.

PM your background and I'll let you know!

Djoos isn't an established NHL dman. He is still a borderline NHL/AHL player.
