LeGuerrier is nowhere near good enough to make the NHL (at the present). He will be back.

He'll be 20 so he doesn't need to be in the NHL next year, he could be in the AHL or ECHL. It's only non-OA's who are NHL or have to be sent back

LeGuerrier might sign and not return...but when I compare him to Sambrook who never signed, I would be surprised if we don't see LeGuerrier next season.

Just a stupid thought. The goalies both seem to play good for a period and half and then implode. When he is pulled the next goalies does well finishing the game. This goes for either goalie. Why not play both in each game for 30 minutes a piece until we get out of this slump. Can it hurt anymore than we are playing now.

not trading frost is the stupidest thing raftis has done to date. today is a fine reminder of that.

Despite what the standings show, Soo was not a top four team last season, imo. Had the hounds sold last season, they would have been set up well for the near future.

IMO last year was a cash grab hoping for some extra playoff revenues but was a poor choice for the future.

Yeah maybe. It was just the wrong time to stand pat; either add or sell because the hounds were just a solid 5-6 team post deadline

They missed winning the conference by a hair and made the second round of the playoffs but were not top 4. (mod)

Sorry but that’s how it’s done in the O now. Take your shot and load up, win or lose....then dump and restart again. Wash, rinse, wear, repeat! It’s a simple formula which we haven’t truly followed since ‘15 and now it’s going to bite us in the A** for the next few seasons for sure.

The other thing for everyone to consider is every team’s roster is NOT set until AFTER the trade deadline! So who cares how great we look in September until January! The other teams are making moves as well. Everyone could see Guelph built an old style “playoff” team with SIZE AND SKILL. If we’d have played them in the first round we probably wouldn’t have got out alive!!! Lol

the hounds looked the part pre-deadline, at least; post deadline, more like a 5-6 seed with Kitchener. The rangers could afford to essentially stand pat because Damiani and Miereless, Yantsis, Gareaffa were near certainties to return; and, the team had a surplus of picks. The hounds were not in a position to sit idle, imo.

as a guy who spent the last 6 weeks telling us how great a team the hounds were, maybe Fisch should reconsider calling other peoples opinions "stupid".

Agreed. It was very short sighted to NOT trade Frost, Hayton, Hallowell, Howdeshell, Sambrook etc. Any combination of the above OR all of them should have been looked into.

I don't know the whole story, but Owen Sound had agreed to a trade and I think that kind of tied their hands leading up to the deadline. There is still a huge amount of resentment towards that organization for their perceived underhanded tactics.

That most definitely may be true but I feel like the Hounds waited too long and should have made it more known they were “open to offers”.

It sure seemed like they were backed up against the clock and ran out of time didn’t it?

happens, I guess. The wolves were apparently locked in for Gordeev last deadline, then maybe panicked a bit falling back on Demeo late in the process. Demeo was a steadying enough presence for the wolves, just a bit pricy when considering Raftis turned a 6th into Peca who had similar value, imo. The year before the wolves completely choked on trading Sokolov up against the deadline
