Barrie was on a 3rd game in 3 nights. Was out of town and didn't make the game. WTF happened? No way we should have lost that one
Barrie played hard, forechecked hard and gave us very little time to make plays, which resulted in turnovers. We had difficulty exiting our zone and entering their zone for great opportunities. And when we did we could not finish. We tried to make too many passes through their sticks, low percentage passes. Our youth really showed all round and as Dean said in the paper the veterans were not very helpful.

Simply put we got pushed around by not a big team. We lost every puck battle. While our Defense can skate and rush with the puck they can’t muscle anyone off the puck. Going to be a long season.

Hopefully Taylor will be in net today check out Propps numbers pretty scary sitting in 34 spot in goalie rankings
Taylor is 6th give this kid a chance
Last time we played North Bay Propp stunk out the joint

Agreed, not an ideal start and the stats are ugly.. No way to sugar coat it. Think it's best to truly see where this team thinks it's going to be before they make another move... Compete for home ice.. Or just make the playoffs. No sense spending assets to acquire another goalie if they think Malik is coming also, lots of questions and not many answers yet.

I disagree because I think most games we’re outsized. Last night Barrie looked WAY bigger and tougher then the Hounds.....as did Saginaw on Wednesday.

0/11 on the powerplay the last two games. Last I saw 18th rated in the league. PK isn't much better.

Blowing an extended 5 on 3 really sucks. If you aren't going to make a team pay for taking those liberties they are going to keep taking them.

Barrie have 4 guys 200 plus hounds have 3, if thats WAY bigger. As for tougher we have only 2 guys #20 and#21. That’s why we will be pushed around all year.

toughness doesn't necessarily mean size.

barrie is the most penalized team in the league by far (over 200 PIMs) only 10 games into the season. they play a heavy game.

the trick to beating a team like that is making them pay for taking penalties imo.

Exactly, you have to make a team pay for taking penalties, that's how you neutralize a bigger, tougher team with your skill. But if you do not score on the power play your gonna have trouble.

Blaming the offense seems a little unfair after we give up 18 goals on less than 100 shots in a 3 game span. No team is going to win any games on an .814 save percentage.

Here are the top scoring teams in the league:
1. Saginaw
2. Sudbury
3. Sault Ste. Marie
4. Peterborough
5. Oshawa

Every other team is off to a red hot start. Our problems this season lie predominantly in the crease. Give this team a .900 SV% and we're probably 8-3 or 9-2 with no complaints about the powerplay.

Better intensity so far but the turnovers in our end are adding up quick ... As I typed this we turned over the puck and got scored on. Dang!

Tighter in our end boys! Without a good breakout we can't make use of our speed.

Do any of the above have a team 0.900 SV%?

Close, but not quite. That number was a touch optimistic, you are correct.

The Greyhounds are 19th of 20 teams in save percentage to start this game, with only Sarnia being worse.

If the Hounds get average goaltending, whatever that number may be, and continue this level of goal scoring, then they will be something like last year's team or better.

Not the year of the goalie, so far :)

You are missing the point. If you cannot score on the power play bigger teams will take liberties and not mind being short handed more often. We cannot play the rough game and ultimately it will hurt us if the power play is not clicking.
