With 3 pro sports teams in town (in the MLS, MLB and NFL) plus college sports, I can't see an NHL or even an NBA team being successful in a city with a GMA of 2 million.

Interesting read. Thanks for posting it.

Although it is still successful without an NBA or NHL tenant, the city would of course make much more money with one in the Sprint Centre. Key thing is that the city has no reason to be desperate to attract an NBA or NHL tenant so they wouldn't bend over backwards to get one. For a prospective owner, not owning the building or being able to get a sweetheart deal on rent or concessions from the city adds to the business risk of putting a team in Kansas City, especially if they had to pay either an expansion or relocation fee to the league.
